Jose Abreu- Jose Abreu is a very strong daily fantasy play on Saturday. His splits have been exaggerated to start the season as he has primarily been productive against right handed pitching. He is hitting .327 with 4 of his 5 home runs against right handers. He has a .606 slugging percentage against righties, and on Saturday, he is facing off with Ricky Nolasco, who is just returning from injury and tends towards allowing fly balls. He is the sixth most expensive first baseman on Fanduel so he offers some nice value if you are trying to monitor your expenses and not overpay at first base. Fanduel Salary- $4,000.00
Josh Donaldson- Josh Donaldson continues to be one of the best players in the game. The good news for Donaldson owners is that there isn't really to much in the way of statistical outliers to make us believe he won't continue to dominate for fantasy teams. His .231 ISO is a bit higher than it was in 2014, but he is in a more home run friendly environment (and truthfully, the entire AL East Division is more home run friendly), his fly ball rate is actually a bit lower than it has been in the past few years, and his HR/FB is slightly increased. Overall, I think Donaldson is about as safe a bet as any player to continue positive production in 2015.
Taijuan Walker- Taijuan Walker is an interesting value play on Saturday. Walker's strikeout rate is back up to 20% and appears to be on the rise, but I really like Walker longer term because he has been exceptionally unlucky in a lot of ways. His BABIP Against is an insane .387 and his strand rate is an incredibly low 60.1%. These things should regress in a positive manner. While you dance with an 11% walk rate when you rely on Walker, I'm willing to risk it with swing and miss lineups like Houston where I think Walker will be able to find some strikeouts. Fanduel Salary- $7,700.00
Chris Tillman- Chris Tillman started to correct some of his ridiculously out of whack statistics with a plus start on Friday. His absurdly high walk rate started to deflate a bit to 13.3%, which speaks to how badly Tillman's first couple starts have gone this season. His 7 strikeouts raised his K Rate to 17.7%. While Tillman still isn't anything more than a back end fantasy option, he should continue a positive regression and may be worth a look if he is available in your league as a streaming option depending on match-up.
Hector Santiago- I like Hector Santiago a lot on Saturday based on his match-up against a weak Giants offense. Santiago has seen a slight K Rate rise early on to 21.6%, and while he has risk with his 11.8% BB Rate and his extreme fly ball nature, he could take advantage of a plus match-up on Saturday. He is a discount value play at his current salary. Fanduel Salary- $7,400.00
