Zach Neto-Angels-SS
Zach Neto was 1-4 with an HR (20), 1 R, and 2 RBI against the Tigers. Neto is hitting .254 with 20 HR, 58 R, 66 RBI, and 23 SB. He has been a nice value based on where he went in drafts. Neto has just enough skills (7% BB, 23% K, and 9% Barrels) to make his power/speed combo work. While he is not elite in anything, he does play every day and already has a 20 HR/20 SB season with a respectable batting average (.245-.250). This is good enough to finish as a top 10 SS and #59 overall player in dollars earned.
Tyler Fitzgerald-Giants-SS
Tyler Fitzgerald was 1-3 with a walk against the Brewers. Fitzgerald has become the Giants every day shortstop and has hit either first or second which is a valuable fantasy spot due to the increased at-bats. He is hitting .296 with 14 HR, 41 R, 29 RBI, and 16 SB in 72 GP. He has been one of the most valuable waiver wire pickups. The average is going to come down because he has a 29% strikeout rate and isn't going to hold a .376 BABIP all year. Fitzgerald has been able to barrel the baseball (9% Barrels) but has below-average hard-hit rates and maxEV making his power outburst hard to buy into. The speed is legit but this is likely the best stretch of his career but that is no reason to not ride this hot streak out.
Jackson Chourio-Brewers-OF
Jackson Chourio was 1-4 with 1 R, 2 RBI, and 1 BB against the Giants. Chourio has been on fire in the second half (.329 AVG with 7 HR, 22 R, 25 RBI, and 9 SB). On the year, he is hitting .271 with 16 HR, 64 R, 62 RBI, and 19 SB as a 20-year-old. The improvements in the second half are on the back of fewer strikeouts (15% K) and the ability to drive the ball (.922 OPS). Chourio has adjusted to the league and is finally showing the potential we all believed in coming into the year. Chourio has a true five-category profile that is going to lead to him being one of the top players year in and year out.
Wyatt Langford-Rangers-OF
Wyatt Langford was 0-3 with a walk against the White Sox. Langford is hitting .243 with 8 HR, 49 R, 53 RBI, and 12 SB. His season has not gone as expected. There was a ton of hype coming into the year based on his rapid ascension through the minors and his prospect pedigree. Langford has proven that he can make contact (21% K) and control the strike zone (9% BB). He also hits the ball hard (9% Barrels and 43% Hardhit). The good news is that he has displayed the skills necessary to be successful but the results just haven't been there. He is a prime breakout candidate for 2025. It is unlikely that he holds a 6% HR/FB for his career given his ability to make contact, hit fly balls, and hit the ball hard. Langford has legit 20 HR/20 SB upside.
Colt Keith-Tigers-3B
Colt Keith was 0-3 with a walk against the Angels. Keith came into the game hitting .367 with 1 HR, 4 R, 8 RBI, and 1 SB in his last 7 games. He's continued to get better the more at-bats he gets. Keith is hitting .287 with 3 HR, 12 R, 15 RBI, and 2 SB in the second half. He has cut his strikeout from 19% to 16% while going from a 99 wRC+ to 106 wRC+. On the year, he is hitting .260 with 12 HR, 48 R, 52 RBI, and 7 SB in 461 PA. In a good year, he is going to produce 20 HR/10 SB which has value but isn't elite. Keith's profile gets more valuable the deeper the league.
