Saves are the most volatile stat in Fantasy. If you're seeking Saves, roster high Whiff Rate RPs with nice ratios who can provide the vulture save or win.
Jeremiah Estrada RP SAN
Jeremiah was a relief pitcher. Was a good friend of mine. I never understood a single word he said but his K% of 43% is a mighty fine time. And his velocity is always quite high. Ok, maybe we can't sing Joy to the World with Jeremiah Estrada just yet, as the bulk of San Diego Saves still go to Suarez, but roster Estrada and you'll be rainbow rider, cuz he's a straight-shooting son of a gun...and he'll keep your ratios tight while catching the odd win and/or save.
Jason Adam RP TAM
Here we go again: Tampa uses everyone for saves. As the top RHP RP after closer Fairbanks, Adam will receive the final call here and there thanks to his elite 37% Whiff Rate and soft 87 MPH Average Exit Velocity. While Adam has been known to wear his heart (but not a rainbow) on his sleeve, he is an occasional option to close the door for Tampa. Even strictly for ratios, Adams is a pitcher one can roster with Pride.
Garrett Cleavinger RP TAM
If you work for the Rays, your job description includes: "May be called upon to get final out(s) of game." Cleavinger is the top LHP option in the Tampa pen and gets the nod to finish games when the matchup dictates. Like Adam, he owns an elite whiff rate of 37% and also elicits soft contact. Cleavinger makes another ratio dandy for your staff and you can enjoy the assorted save or win as they arrive.
Tayler Saucedo RP SEA
The lefty matchup option out of the Mariner bullpen is a Saucy choice. Though he's yet to qualify as Saucedo's pitched just 15.2 IP, his allowed Barrell Rate is 2.3% and average exit velocity is only 85.3 MPH. Stanek is the RHP RP and may win the matchup battle, but as long as Muñoz remains unavailable, Saucedo should get some looks at the final out for Seattle, who, as a good team, should have plenty of save chances ahead.
Ryne Stanek RP SEA
Stanek steps into the Save void for Seattle with Andrés Muñoz out for a questionable amount of time due to a back injury. Despite a recent implosion, Stanek owns 98th percentile average velocity on his fastball, buoyed by a 35% Chase Rate that leaves a lot of hitters missing. Stanek's stability in high leverage is solid, but his grip on Save chances is volatile. He could be a nice waiver wire pickup for those desperately seeking saves.
