Grayson Rodriguez, SP, BAL
Rodriguez had a dominant season debut against the Angels on Saturday, striking out 9 in 6 IP, while allowing just 1 ER on 4 hits and 1 BB. He recorded a 17.9% SwStr% for the ballgame. Rodriguez was excellent in the second half of last season, compiling a 2.58 ERA along with a 73:21 K:BB and 52.7% GB% across 76.2 IP and he appears to be picking up right where he left off. In addition to the strong ratios and strikeout abilities, he shouldn't have trouble finding wins with the Orioles offense clicking on all cylinders, at least right now. The former top prospect has the upside of being one of the best pitchers in MLB, and it shouldn't be a surprise if he ends up in contention for a Cy Young award.
Abner Uribe, RP, MIL
Uribe picked up his second save of the season against the Mets on Saturday, despite allowing a run in his inning of work. It wasn't clear heading into the season who the Brewers would use to close out games with Devin Williams on the shelf, but with two saves already under his belt, Uribe is the clear frontrunner at this point. He was sensational as a rookie in 2023, posting a 1.76 ERA and striking out 39 batters in 30.2 IP, while recording a 53.0% GB%. In fact, the home run that he allowed on Saturday was the first that he has allowed in his MLB career. He did struggle with his control last season, posting a 5.87 BB/9, but for what it's worth, he hasn't walked a batter in the two innings he's pitched this season. Uribe is a must add in fantasy leagues at this point as he seems poised to continue getting save chances until Williams is eventually able to return.
Oswaldo Cabrera, 3B, NYY
Cabrera homered again for the Yankees on Saturday as he continues his scorching hot start to the season, going 7-13 with 2 HR's and 6 RBI though the first 3 games. He also has 4 K's in those 13 at bats, but he has been hitting the ball hard in the early going. Perhaps more importantly, D.J. Lemahieu has been revealed to have a fractured bone in his foot, which should open up plenty of at bats for Cabrera in the foreseeable future, and give him the opportunity to prove that he belongs in the lineup even after Lemahieu's return.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr., OF, ARI
Gurriel went 2-4 with a HR against the Rockies on Saturday giving him 3 HR's through the first 3 games this season. Gurriel has been a solid offensive contributor throughout his career, as he has a career .280 BA and has hit 20+ HR's in 3 of the last 4 full seasons. He makes solid contact (career 19.6% K%) and hits the ball hard (career 45.3% HardHit%), and outside of stolen bases, he can contribute in all fantasy categories for a cheap cost.
Michael Conforto, OF, SF
Conforto had another big day for the Giants on Saturday going 2-4 with a double, a HR, and 4 RBI. Through 3 games this season, he is 6-13 with 2 doubles and 2 HR's. Conforto's game has taken a step back the past few seasons both in terms of BA and power, although his peripherals have remained mostly the same. Playing in San Francisco hurt him a bit last season as his OPS was 55 points lower at home than on the road. Perhaps Conforto can revert back to his heyday with the Mets when he hit 88 HR's from 2017-19, but he will need to prove that over a larger sample size.
