Bryce Harper (OF-PHI)
Harper went 1 for 3 with a pair of walks with his 7th home run of the season. Since getting hit by a pitch almost two weeks ago, Harper has missed about a week's worth of games and hit his first home run since April 25th. Tuesday's effort raised his line to a big .296/.425/.571 on the season but despite the big home run total he only has 7 RBIs as all 7 of his home runs have been solo shots thus far. By this point fans and fantasy owners alike should know that March and April have always been his best month of his career (1.029 OPS) so hopefully the week off will help him stay hot.
Logan Webb (SP-SF)
Webb was dominant Tuesday, striking out 10 over 6 innings, allowing 1 ER. Webb entered play with a 5.34 ERA although his 3.76 fip is probably a better indicator of how his season has gone - and he certainly pitched like it in this one as he was able to induce 14 swinging strikes. Webb has racked up K's at a 9.28 K/9 mark, while generating a 59% groundball rate and keeping the ball in the park (0.84 HR/9). A .375 babip has hurt him early on but he has the stuff to pitch closer to his fip then his ERA
Ozzie Albies (2B-ATL)
Albies went 1 for 4 with an RBI. His .230 batting average is below expectations but has kept fantasy managers happy with 5 HR, 15 RBIs and 21 runs scored adding an additional 10 doubles and 2 triples to fuel a .467 slugging percentage. Albies has done a good job of drawing walks and limiting strikeouts, as he has seen a career low 36% of pitches in the zone this year and has translated that to a career high 9% walk rate and a 15% K rate. Perhaps the lack of hittable pitches has led to the depressed .234 babip and resulting average but as long as he continues to add counting stats he will keep the Braves and fantasy owners happy until his average normalizes.
Matt Duffy (3B-CHC)
Duffy went 2-5 Tuesday. Some may remember his second-place finish in the 2015 ROY voting where he hit .295 with 12 HR and 12 SB for the Giants. Injuries derailed him after that, and he resurfaced in 2019 with Tampa to post a .294 (although mostly empty) batting average with 4 HR and 12 SB. We are seeing some of the same with Duffy in a resurgence season with the Cubs as he has showed great plate discipline (12% walk, 15% K rates) while hitting a hard % of ground balls (51%). He has done enough to elevate himself to the top 3rd of the Cubs lineup and he has chipped in 11 runs, 7 RBIs and 3 steals - numbers that should continue to climb - just don't expect much in the power department.
Troy Stokes Jr.(OF-PIT)
Stokes Jr. went 2-3 with a double, walk, 2 RBIs and a stolen base. Stokes Jr. had been 0-8 to start his major league career before picking up his first career hits Tuesday night. Injuries and early poor play have given Stokes Jr. a chance to play the past week and while he has struggled at times to hit for average in the minor leagues, including a .233 at AAA in 2019 he has put up multiple double digit home run and stolen base seasons in the lower minor leagues and good gain more at bats if he continues to hit.
