Corbin Burnes, Milwaukee Brewers - Corbin Burnes allowed one run over five innings against the Twins on Tuesday, and even had a no-hitter running into the fifth inning. Burnes has had a fantastic season for Milwaukee jumping between the rotation and the pen, but after this start, there's no reason to think that the rotation isn't his home moving forward. Burnes has posted a 12.43 K/9 but has an equally high number of walks with a 6.00 BB/9. He's not going to be very efficient due to his general command issues, but Burnes should be rostered if he's going to stick in the rotation for his strikeout upside alone.
Christian Pache, Atlanta Braves - Christian Pache was called up by the Braves on Monday after Nick Markakis was placed on the IL after possibly being exposed to COVID-19. Pache is arguably the Braves' top prospect, but he's likely going to be a better real-life prospect as opposed to a fantasy asset. He should get a decent amount of playing time this week but we'll have to see where he slots in once Markakis comes back, even with Ender Inciarte's struggles in centerfield this season.
Fernando Tatis Jr, San Diego Padres - While Fernando Tatis didn't homer on Tuesday, he did swipe his sixth bag of the season. Tatis has been otherworldly this year with a .310/.384/.710 triple slash and 11 homers in just 112 plate appearances. He's still striking out a decent amount at 27% but when you're running a 100th percentile hard-hit rate and a 99th percentile barrel rate, strikeouts aren't too big of a deal. In addition to the stolen base being his sixth of the season, he also hasn't been thrown out stealing this year after being nabbed six times on 22 attempts last season. He's a fantasy superstar that's going to be a high first-round pick next season.
Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets - Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 at the plate on Tuesday with his fourth homer of the year. Nimmo also tripled for the second straight game, which helps leagues with the total base category dramatically. Nimmo has been hitting atop the Mets lineup all year and it's worked for them as he's posted a 20.2% BB% to help fuel his .431 OBP. His overall stat cast profile has him slightly above average in most areas when it comes to quality contact, but the severe outlier in his profile is his xwOBA (90th percentile) which is helped by the 20% BB%.
Josh Tomlin, Atlanta Braves - Josh Tomlin got the start for a devastated Braves pitching rotation and allowed two runs in four innings, finishing with 51 pitches thrown. Tomlin flirted with danger though allowing six hits and a walk over that span, and he was also hit fairly hard with seven batted balls registering over 100 MPH. He's been fantastic in relief for the Braves and we may see him start to make a few more starts in the rotation with no one around besides Max Fried that can be counted on consistently. Even with the success, he's an NL-only guy for me at this point because I'm not sure how deep into outings he'll be able to go and there isn't a high enough upside for me in mixed leagues.
