Yu Darvish, SP, CHC
Darvish allowed 3 ER's on 4 hits in 6 IP against the Phillies on Monday, striking out 7 and walking 3, lowering his ERA to a still unsightly 5.06 He now has 25 K's in 15.1 IP over his last 3 starts, but K's haven't been the issue for Darvish this season. Walks have been the issue, and after a BB-free outing in his last start, he reverted back to his old ways, walking at least 3 for the 8th time in 10 starts. It's really hard to trust Darvish until he gets this issue under control.
Rhys Hoskins, 1B, PHI
Hoskins went 0-4 against the Cubs on Monday and is now just 5-43 (.116) with no XBH's over his last 12 games, dropping his season average to .254. The power will come back as he's still hitting tons of FB's, but don't expect a return to the .300 BA he boasted just a couple of weeks ago. His career average is just .251 and he's striking out more this year (26.5% K%) than ever before, so he doesn't project to see much improvement in that area.
Anthony Rendon, 3B, WAS
Rendon went 2-2 with 2 BB's, 2 runs, and a HR against the Mets on Monday, giving him 9 HR's on the season and 3 in the last 4 games. Rendon has been an excellent fantasy 3B over the past couple of years and so far this season he's even better, as he's hitting a career-high .342 and is on pace to surpass his career-best of 25 HR's. He has been hitting more FB's this year (51.6%) and hitting the ball harder with an elite 53.7% Hard% so his current 16.3% HR/FB% is completely sustainable. His 17.0% K% is a bit up from previous seasons, but his SwStr% is still elite at 5.9%, so we may still see the K% drop a bit. Rendon's numbers are currently no match for Cody Bellinger or Christian Yelich, but don't be surprised if his name enters the MVP conversation at some point this season.
Mike Soroka, SP, ATL
Soroka allowed 1 ER in 8 IP in a win against the Giants on Monday, and he's been so spectacular this season that his ERA actually rose to 1.01 for the season! Soroka gets it done with an excellent GB-rate (56.5%) that allows him to keep the ball in the yard; in fact the HR he allowed to Brandon Crawford on Monday was the first he has allowed in 7 starts this season. The rest of his peripherals don't really stand out though, and his .203 BABIP and 3.8% HR/FB% are due for a lot of regression, as indicated by a 3.69 xFIP. An ERA in the 3.00's would still make him a solid fantasy asset though.
Julio Teheran, SP, ATL
Teheran has had some good and bad moments this season, but he has an 0.53 ERA in 3 May starts, and on Tuesday he'll face a Giants team with a 79 wRC+ this season. DraftKings Value Play $8,500.
