Shane Bieber went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 ER and 6 strikeouts. Bieber's final line was average, though he remains a solid option from a peripheral standpoint as his SIERA stands at a very impressive 3.49. His SwStr% is solid at 11.3%, suggesting that he's a really good option to trot out the rest of the season. I will definitely target Bieber in 2019.
Sam Gaviglio struggled, allowing 5 ER in just 4.1 innings while racking up 4 Ks. Gaviglio has actually been quite unfortunate this year, as his ERA is a full run higher than his SIERA (4.08). That's still just a pretty average number, but he does sport a solid 48% GB rate. Unfortunately, he doesn't strike out enough batters to warrant much fantasy attention.
Francisco Lindor hit his 32nd and 33rd HRs on the season, adding to what has already been an absolutely stellar year. Lindor has improved nearly across the board since last year, cementing himself among the top SS options next year and for many years to come. At just 24, there's not many guys in the league as intriguing as he is.
Jason Kipnis was 0-for-4, before hitting a 3-run shot in the 9th inning. His average decreased to .230. Kipnis has been in a five year decline, which suggests that fantasy relevance may be completely over for the former 5-tool star. However he has been somewhat unlucky, as his .262 BABIP is 40 points below his career, and his Hard% is up meaningfully from last year. But still, the results haven't been there. Perhaps he'll heat up towards the post season, but I wouldn't bet on a rebound for Kipnis next year, at least not to a level that makes him rosterable.
Billy McKinney batted leadoff, going 1-for-3 before being pinch hit for. The former first round pick has been nothing but rake for the Jays, as he sported a 208 wRC+ entering yesterday in 60 PA. If you're desperate for a hot bat, McKinney could be a nice option over the final month.
