Ryan Borucki- P- TOR- Idea- The Orioles are 26th in MLB in OPS against southpaws. A couple of their best performers this season against LH pitchers (Manny Machado and Danny Valencia) are no longer with the team. This gives Borucki an opportunity to turn in a solid start. Value play- Draft Kings salary $5700
Cedric Mullins II- OF- BAL- Hot- Mullins is back on a hot streak, going 4-for-5 with a double yesterday. That makes him 8-for-16 in his last 4 games. Mullins also swiped his first major league base. He had stolen 21 bases between AA and AAA this season and 30 in his only other full time season, at Class A in 2016. Mullins is making himself a prime candidate for an outfield position with the Orioles in 2019 and could possibly contribute in multiple fantasy categories.
Daniel Palka- OF- CHW- Hot- Palka hit two solo homers yesterday, giving him 22 for his rookie season. He has had a power surge this month, with 5 homers so far in September. Palka seems to have bounced back from a broken finger that saw his homer total drop from 34 at AA and AAA in 2016 to 12 in 382 minor league PAs last season. He has a big swing (33.2% K%) so homers are about all you could expect from him this year and heading into 2019.
Khris Davis- OF- OAK- Stats- The next homer Davis hits will set a career high for him. He equaled his total of 43 from 21017 with a grand slam yesterday. Davis has not been negatively impacted by playing his home games at the pitcher-friendly Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. His homer total there is 21, one fewer than on the road, but in 8 fewer games. Davis has an average of .269 at home, while hitting only .231 on the road. His home Batting EYE of 0.49 is well above his 0.23 road mark. While he is a power threat anywhere, he is more of an overall threat at home.
Andrew Kittredge- RP- TB- Hot- Kittredge made 5 appearances in the past week and picked up 2 wins. Saturday, he retired the only batter he faced to close out the 8th inning and then watched as the Rays took the lead in the bottom of the inning. Kittredge didn't come back in. Yesterday, he followed the "opener" and tossed 2 shutout innings and was credited with the win. For the week, Kittredge threw 4 IP, yielding 1 hit and walking 3 while striking out 2. He hasn't allowed a run this month, throwing 7.1 IP with 4 hits and 5 walks allowed and striking out 8. If the "opener" thing catches on, it will be important to try and figure out which following relievers will get a lot of work. Right now, Kittredge is figuring prominently in Tampa Bay's usage, which gives him value.
