Sean Newcomb (SP - ATL) Even though the Marlins don't own the worst record in baseball, they are still every bit as bad as we expected them to be. They also present a fine opportunity for a pitcher to post some solid numbers in DFS. The Fish will take on Newcomb Saturday in a home start, and come into the game having scored the fewest runs in the Majors. Miami is also sporting a .230 team batting average, as well as having the 11th most strikeouts in the league. Newcomb hasn't allowed an earned run since April 26th, and has a quality start in each of his last three. The 24 year old has also struck out at least six in each outing. He is one of the pricier hurlers on the Draftkings slate at $11,500, but figures to be well worth it.
Charlie Blackmon (OF - COL) I always try to find a way to use Blackmon in away games, so I can take advantage of his skills without the Coors Field premium price. While he still sits at 5K on Draftkings, the matchup in San Francisco against Chris Stratton looks to be favorable. Blackmon is hitting .289 on the road, and while he has only hit .236 against righties, seven of his homers have come against them. Stratton, on the other hand, has a home BAA of .315 and has allowed four or more runs in three of his last four starts.
Jacob deGrom (SP - NYM) The veteran ran his record to 4-0 on the season in the Mets' 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks Friday. deGrom went seven innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, while striking out a whopping 13, and walking none. The outing knocked his already impressive ERA down to 1.75. He isn't allowing a ton of baserunners in the first place, and is stranding 83.6% of those who do reach base, as well as allowing just a .294 BABIP. Despite the Mets struggles as a whole, deGrom continues to be a bright spot, as well as a fantasy stud.
Jeurys Familia (RP - NYM) Familia struck out the side as he recorded his 12th save in the Mets 3-1 victory over the Diamondbacks Friday. The closer needed just 12 pitches for his 12th save and continues to be solid in the role, converting 12 of 15 chances. xFIP currently sits at 3.72, which could indicate some rough times could be ahead, but it isn't high enough to be too concerned with. Another factor that could affect save chances is a potential trade as the Mets continue to head nowhere fast after a strong start. Familia is in the last year of his contract, and could be an attractive bullpen rental for a contender at the trade deadline. In the meantime, he is a solid RP piece for your squad.
Jesus Aguilar (1B - MIL) Aguilar played a big part in the Brewers 8-3 win over the Twins Friday. The 27 year old went 3 for 4 with two homers, three RBI, and three runs scored in the victory. On the season, Agular is slashing .326/.396/.558 with five home runs and 17 RBI. Now that his playing time has become more consistent, it's time to scoop Aguilar up if he's still available in leagues. He doesn't figure to stay this hot, but his .376 BABIP, coupled with his 7% dip in K% from last season, show he could remain fantasy relevant for the remainder of 2018.
