Yoan Moncada, Chicago White Sox - Yoan Moncada has been on fire the last two weeks and continued so Wednesday hitting his 5th homer of the season. Since April 11th he owns a 171 wRC+, four homers, and four stolen bases all despite a K% just shy of 40%. Despite the strikeout rate being that high, he isn't chasing pitches often (18% out of zone swing%) he just flat out is missing a lot of balls in the zone. That's the main reason why he is still able to be so productive at the plate despite the high K% is that he's constantly swinging at good pitches to hit which can lead to a 50% hard-hit rate for the season.
Francisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians - Francisco Lindor has had a dreadful start to the season but has had a solid last two weeks and looks like he's getting back on track. Wednesday Lindor homered for the third time this season and all three of those have come since April 11th. Over that same span Lindor is slashing .279/.354/.512 with a .233 ISO and his batting line last season was .273/.337/.505 with a .232 ISO. Give a shot at buying low on him hoping that his owner has already soured on him, Lindor looks like he's on his way back to being an absolute stud.
Aaron Sanchez, Toronto Blue Jays - Aaron Sanchez has turned in four straight quality starts now after tossing 6.0 innings allowing just two runs and striking out a season-high eight batters against the Red Sox. He did a terrific job limiting baserunners allowing just three hits and two walks. Sanchez has really improved his free passes after allowing 11 in his first 19.2 innings he's issued just four free passes over his last 12 innings. Sanchez was able to generate an impressive 17 swinging strikes and 15 called strikes in his outing, which will only boost his already career-high 9.0% swinging strike rate.
Joey Wendle, Tampa Bay Rays - Joey Wendle went 3-for-5 Wednesday with his second stolen base of the season. Wendle now has three straight multi-hit games and has a knock in five straight games overall. Wendle is having an excellent season so far hitting .328 with a homer and the two steals while playing second base for Tampa Bay. He's blistering the ball all over the field with a 40.5% ground ball rate but the kicker is a 60% groundball rate that he's currently posting. If that 60% can't bleed into his sub-10% line drive rate Wendle will likely see some regression to his line even though he is making a ton of hard contact.
Chris Archer Thursday vs Baltimore - Chris Archer has been bad this season, there's no way around that but there are some numbers that give him some upside in DFS. First, the Orioles own just a 75 wRC+ this year and on Archer's side, he's generating a 14% swinging strike rate and still has a chase rate similar to what he has for his career. He's essentially a two-pitch pitcher at this point in his career though so if one pitch goes sour the whole start can get derailed.
