Ender Inciarte (OF, ATL) - Inciarte crushed two home runs on Thursday, as the Braves downed the Rockies 10-4 at Coors Field. With a stat line that reads .300/.346/.408, 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 17 steals and 77 runs, the 26-year-old is performing like a top 15 outfielder. While the metrics are not spectacular, the K% of 13.9% this season bumps up the OBP despite his wOBA being just .318. The .336 BABIP helps the overall numbers also. While he is not a huge source of power, and is not excellent at any one thing, Inciarte puts the bat on the ball and does a lot of things well. He will be a hot name in 2018 drafts as owners look for him to improve heading into his age 27 season. If you want his services, you will have to spend a bit more.
Charlie Blackmon (OF, COL) - The 31-year old's stellar season keeps on rolling. Blackmon hit his 28th homer of 2017, going 3 for 5 overall, driving in two runs and scoring twice, despite the Rockies falling to the Braves Thursday 10-4. The line reads .335/.396/.620 with the 28 homers, 76 RBI, 11 steals, and 111 runs scored. The metrics are just as good, and it is hard to pick just a few to list. The .416 wOBA is eighth in baseball, and he is making hard contact at a 37.4% clip. Pair that with him hitting in a solid lineup, as well as the best hitters' park in the league, and you have yourself a National League MVP candidate, and a player who could be a first half of the first-round pick heading into 2018 drafts.
Jake Lamb (3B, ARI) - Lamb went 1 for 4, chipping in with a solo home run on Thursday as the Diamondbacks blanked the Astros 4-0. The 26-year-old is within three home runs of tying his career high of 29 from 2016, and should surpass that number. After a hot start, Lamb has cooled a bit, but should benefit from hitting in a hitter's park, and having an explosive offense around him. The biggest knock on him is the 24.4% K%. Despite that, he is walking at a 13.6% clip, which props up the OBP, along with the .372 wOBA. Lamb is on pace for 35 homers, and is playing as a top ten third baseman, and that is how he should be treated heading into 2018 drafts.
Patrick Corbin (ARI SP) - Corbin cruised to his 10th win Thursday as the D'Backs shut out the Astros. Corbin was sharp, allowing zero runs on four hits, while striking out seven and walking just one. Minus a hiccup against the Cubs, Corbin has been excellent in nine of his last ten starts. In that span, Corbin has lowered his ERA a half run, and five games of seven or more strikeouts. His K/9 is up nearly one per game, and sits at 8.84. Home runs have been an issue at times, as he is averaging 1.46 per game. xFIP suggests he will get better, which owners have to like, as it sits at 3.80. The .351 BABIP could be a problem, as it is a little on the high side. Corbin was more than likely a waiver add for owners, so ride the hot hand, but do not be afraid to move on from him if he begins to struggle a bit as the season winds down.
Joey Votto (1B, CIN) - Votto's career year continues, as he hit went 2 for 5 with three RBI Thursday, as the Reds downed the Cubs 13-10. The veteran also hit his 32nd home run of the season, and upped his line to .316/.448/.601, and his RBI total to 86. He is currently on pace for 42 home runs and 114 RBI, and continues to be a beast, especially for owners in OBP leagues. One thing fueling his tremendous season is his 18.6% BB% compared to his 11.6% K%. The wRC+ of 165 is way above league average, and the hard contact rate of 36.9% explains his surge in the homer department. Overall, he is a top option at the position, and is well worth the high pick you will have to spend on him. It is a shame he is wasting away on a sub-par team.
Adam Lind (OF, WAS) - My bargain for the day at $2200, against San Diego starter Luis Perdomo, who allows lefties to hit .322 of him. Lind hit fifth Thursday, and should be somewhere in that vicinity in the order as long as Bryce Harper is out. Lind is hitting .308 against right handers, and all nine homers have come off of them as well. Save some cash and get some value with Lind on Friday's DFS slate.
