Gary Sanchez-Yankees-C
Gary Sanchez was 1-5 with his 23rd HR against the Red Sox. On the year he is hitting .276 with 23 HR, 59 R, and 65 RBI. He has cemented himself as a top three catcher next year with Buster Posey and Willson Contreras. The power that Sanchez provides from the catcher position is a difference maker. He hits the ball hard (38%), pulls the ball (53%), and hits just enough balls in the air to have 30 HR potential. Sanchez has been incredibly hot as of late hitting .417 with 4 HR and 11 RBI over his last seven games.
Jordan Montgomery-Yankees-SP
Jordan Montgomery went 5 IP and gave up 3 ER on 4 H, 2 BB, and 3 K's against the Red Sox. Montgomery through 23 starts has a 4.00 ERA (4.22 SIERA). Despite being a rookie and talks of a six man rotation, Montgomery has made 23 starts and has looked very capable at the major league level. His strikeout rate is slightly above league average and still has room for growth based upon his pitch mix and 12.9% swinging strikes. He has not hurt himself with free passes (7.5% BB) or homers (1.19 HR/9) despite pitching in a homer friendly park and division. His ceiling is likely never a fantasy ace but he has the potential to be an above average fantasy starter with a higher ceiling if he can up the strikeout rate which is in the realm of possibilities due to his swinging strike rate.
Jeremy Hellickson-Phillies-SP
Jeremy Hellickson went 4.2 IP and gave up 7 ER on 8 H, 2 BB, and 5 K's against the Angels. Hellickson through 24 starts has a 5.00 ERA (5.15 SIERA). He has been a disaster this year after pitching well in 2016. His strikeout rate has fallen from 20% last year to 14.8% this year. His swinging strike rate has fallen from 11% to 8% this year. He is getting fewer ground balls and giving up more homers (1.59 HR/9). The trade to Baltimore was a puzzling one in real life but an even worse move for his fantasy chances going forward. Hellickson belongs on the waiver wire, not your roster.
Josh Donaldson-Blue Jays-3B
Josh Donaldson was 0-4 with a walk against the Cubs. On the year Donaldson has raised his season line to .268 with 20 HR, 41 R, 52 RBI, and 1 SB in 79 games. This has been an injury riddled season for Donaldson but when he has been completely healthy which has been just recently, he has raked. He is hitting .400 with 9 HR and 21 RBI in August. Donaldson is still hitting the ball hard (37% Hard) and showing his upside in August. He is going to come at a discount next year due to his age and injuries this year, which could provide nice value.

Seth Smith-Orioles-OF
Seth Smith gets a nice matchup with RHP J.C. Ramirez. He will have the platoon advantage. He normally hits high in the order against RHP, which boosts his value. Smith also has a career .356 wOBA and .199 ISO against RHP. Ramirez struggles with LHB (.376 wOBA & 16 HR). Fanduel: $2,800
