Jackie Bradley, Jr.- OF- BOS- Idea- Bradley is poised to take advantage of his reverse splits matching up with reverse splits of Jason Vargas. Bradley has a .343/.410/.557 slash line against southpaw hurlers while Vargas has a .290/.333/.451 slash line against LH hitters. Value play- Draft Kings salary $3600
Lucas Duda- 1B- TB- Trade- Duda was dealt to Tampa Bay yesterday where he will likely take over the DH spot for the Rays. That has been a revolving door and Duda will provide stability. Corey Dickerson will continue to patrol the outfield. Despite playing his home games in a pitcher's park with the Mets, Duda has produced better there than on the road. In 39 home games Duda hit .262 with 11 homers while he hit .230 with 6 homers in 36 road games. This could mean that Duda will not get much of a bump from moving to a better hitters' park.
Andrelton Simmons- SS- LAA- Hot- Simmons went 1-for-4 to extend his current hitting streak to 6 games. He has hit 2 homers and scored 6 runs in that span. Simmons has, however, not stolen a base in over a month, since June 22. His average stands at .300, in part due to a .314 BABIP. With his 11 homers, if he could add to his steals (he currently has 13) his fantasy value would increase significantly. Simmons has attempted to steal twice and been thrown out since he last succeeded at swiping a base.
Josh Donaldson- 3B- TOR- Stats- Donaldson just hasn't seemed to have come back around from his calf strain earlier this season. He is only hitting .231 since returning in late May. Last year his GB% was 38.2% and his FB% was 40.6%. Since returning those numbers are 42.0% and 34.4% respectively. Donaldson's Hard% has dropped from 40.4% to 34.4%. It looks like he is having a hard time rebounding this season but will quite possibly be a prime comeback candidate for 2018.
Brett Gardner- OF- NYA- Hot- Gardner extended his hitting streak to 9 games, going 2-for-5 with a homer to lead off the bottom of the 11th for the win. He has collected 2 hits 5 times in this streak. There may be some regression to the mean happening, as his BABIP is still at .288 even with this streak. Gardner has rediscovered his power stroke, with 3 homers in his last 7 games. He is a good bet to have a strong finish.
