OF A.J. Pollock was shut down for much of last week's rehab games due to quad tightness but is scheduled to resume playing today. Pollock will likely only need a couple more games before he's activated but owners should look to get him into lineups this week once he gets the call. OF Matt Kemp is also day-to-day after he left that same game with tightness in his hamstring. Double-check his status before plugging him in this week. 1B Freddie Freeman hopes to begin a rehab assignment in a week or so as he pushes for a pre-All-Star Break return from a broken wrist. Freeman may be converting to third base as the Braves have been impressed with the bat of 1B Matt Adams. Keep stashing Freeman away as his fantasy value can only increase with the new positional flexibility. C/OF Kyle Schwarber's rough season got worse this week after he was demoted to Triple-A. This isn't likely to be a long-term demotion and if you can keep the still-promising slugger stashed away, do so.
On Saturday, Jon Gray made what is likely to be his final rehab start as he looks to be ready to rejoin the Rockies' rotation after recovering from a broken foot. Gray is worth adding in leagues where he's available, but starting him this week will be a risky play given his struggles during his rehab outings. Kenta Maeda will make another spot start on Tuesday as the Dodgers want to give their starting rotation an extra day of rest. Maeda isn't worth owning right now given his inconsistency this season and a questionable role. Dodgers top pitching prospect Julio Urias is done for the season as he'll need shoulder surgery. Urias was a worthy stash in large roster re-draft leagues but he can be dropped in non-keeper leagues.
Jim Johnson blew his fifth save of the season last week and despite no indication a change is coming, it may not be long before Arodys Vizcaino gets a regular look in that closer role. Johnson remains a decent RP2/3 option for now while Vizcaino is worth a speculative add.
