Miguel Andujar, 3B, NYY
Andujar had quite the big-league debut for the Yankees on Wednesday going 3-4 with 4 RBI, a 2B, a BB, and a SB. Andujar had excellent contact rates in the minors, although he never displayed huge amounts of power. Nevertheless, being part of the loaded Yankees lineup should give plenty of opportunities for fantasy friendly numbers. How long he remains with the big club may depend on how long Matt Holiday remains sidelined, but for the short-term, Andujar looks like a valid fantasy option.
Mitch Haniger, OF, SEA
Haniger was on fire before fitting the DL a few weeks into the season, but that hasn't exactly been the case since his activation in early June. In 20 games since coming off the DL, Haniger is batting .230 with just 4 XBH's and a 32.4% K% through 74 PA's. The strikeout rate is the most concerning, as he had a respectable 21.1 K% before his injury. He will need to cut down on the K's in order to have real mixed-league value, although his high BB% does give him an advantage in OBP leagues.
Trey Mancini, 1B, OF, BAL
Mancini added two more hits on Wednesday, as he continues his scorching June in which he's batting .366 with 7 HR's and 19 RBI for the month. Mancini looks like a good player, but he seems to be a prime regression candidate with a .394 BABIP and 25.9% HR/FB. His 26.8% K% doesn't bode well for maintaining a .323 BA, and his high GB% (48.7%) isn't conducive for a 30+ HR pace. I wouldn't expect him to fall off the map, but I also don't expect him to give Aaron Judge a run for his money in the AL Rookie of the Year race.
Carlos Rodon, SP, CWS
Rodon was activated from the 60-day DL and made his first start of the season against the Yankees on Wednesday. It's hard to complain about 0 ER's in 5 IP from a guy who has been out for nearly 3 months, but that's exactly what I'm going to do. While none of the runs charged to Rodon were earned, he did allow 3 unearned while walking 6 in 5 IP and striking out only 2. He struggled in his minor league rehab too, so his difficulties on Wednesday shouldn't come as a huge surprise. This doesn't mean he won't turn things around; after all Rodon did strike out over a batter per inning last season while greatly improving his BB-rate. Just don't count this as a step in the right direction.
Luis Cessa, SP, NYY
Cessa has a nice matchup against the White Sox on Thursday, as the White Sox rank in the bottom-5 in MLB in wOBA and in OPS against RHP's this season. Cessa meanwhile has pitched better than his ERA suggests as he has a 13:4 K:BB in 12.1 IP through two starts this season. He comes as one of the cheapest SP options in DraftKings. DraftKings Value Play Salary $5,300.
