OF Billy Hamilton is day-to-day with a minor calf injury but is expected to return to the Reds' lineup soon. Keep watch of Hamilton's status going into this week but plan on having the speedster available. OF Ryan Braun is expected to miss this week's slate and potentially more after landing on the 10-day DL with a calf strain and a flexor strain. Keep Braun stashed away in hopes that rest will put him in line for a return in a week. OF Dexter Fowler was back in the Cardinals' lineup on Friday after missing the first half of the week with a sore shoulder. Fowler is still a viable play in most leagues despite a slow start to the season.
Matt Harvey was back on the mound for the Mets on Friday after serving a one-start suspension for conduct detrimental to the team but struggled again in the start. Harvey hasn't been good this season but he's still worth stashing, though starting him right now is a risky proposition. Aaron Nola, who has been on the DL with a back injury, remains on track for a return late this week as he'll likely wrap up his rehab assignment on Monday. If Nola pitches well during that outing he'll be a sneaky play at the end of the week with a start lined up against the Pirates.
Jeurys Familia will miss the next 3-4 months as he's recovering from surgery to remove a blood clot in his pitching shoulder. Familia can be dropped in most leagues given the lengthy timetable. His absence will clear the way for Addison Reed to close out games. Reed should be added in all formats.
