Seth Lugo-Mets-SP
Seth Lugo went 7 IP and gave up 0 ER on 6 H, 0 BB, and 4 K's against the Nationals. Lugo now has a 2.38 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 20% K. He has now made four starts for the Mets and the results are encouraging. Lugo lays claim to the fasted recorded spin rate of any curveball thrown during the Statcast Era. This might seem trivial, but it is a true out pitch that allows Lugo to get strikeouts with average fastball velocity for a righty. The curveball gets 16% SwStr as well as 46% GB so it is a pitch that he can rely on. Lugo also happens to have excellent matchups against the Braves, Nationals, and then Phillies or Marlins. He needs to be picked up if you are looking for a streamer down the stretch run.
Joey Votto-Reds-1B
Joey Votto was 2-4 with a walk in the loss to the Cardinals. Votto is now slashing .312 with 22 HR and 79 RBI. He has been unstoppable in the second half (.424 AVG. with 8 HR and 37 RBI). He has a ridiculous .524 OBP and 1.64 BB/K in the second half. Those who stuck with Votto have been rewarded with this torrid second half and he has 31 games left to add to his season totals.
Jon Gray-Rockies-SP
Jon Gray went 7 IP and gave up 5 ER on 7 H, 1 BB, and 3 K's against the Diamondbacks. Gray now has a 4.51 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 26% K. The underlying skills are there for the young right-hander, but Coors Field has other plans for a true breakout. Gray has excellent stuff in terms of swing and miss (26% K, 12% SwStr), but he has been hurt by a .300 BABIP and 68% LOB. His 3.71 SIERA suggests that he has pitched much better than his traditional stats indicate. However, the nice thing about Gray is that after today he is lined up to face the Padres twice and the Dodgers the next three turns through the rotation, which are really good matchups for him.
Carlos Martinez-Cardinals-SP
Carlos Martinez went 6 IP and gave up 2 ER on 7 H, 5 BB, and 6 K's against the Reds. Martinez now has a 3.07 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 21.1% K. He posted a 3.38 ERA over 32 IP in August. He also saw his strikeouts bump up to 26% and his walks fall from 10% to 8%, which are both really good signs. Martinez is someone who can dominate if his control is there in combination with the strikeout stuff. He already induces a ton of weak contact with 56% GB, so the added strikeouts makes Martinez a tough pitcher to score runs against. His SwStr on the season is way down, but at this point in the year recent performance is more important and Martinez is on a roll. He has a plus matchup with the Brewers next time out and then two tough match ups with the Cubs and against the Rockies in Coors Field.

Ryan Raburn-Rockies-OF
Ryan Raburn is a known lefty killer that gets a matchup with LHP Matt Moore. Raburn has posted a .404 wOBA and .206 ISO against LHP over the past calendar year. He also happens to be at home in Coors Field, the best hitting environment against a pitcher that gives up 1.24 HR/9 to RHB. DraftKings: $3,300
