Carlos Martinez-Cardinals-SP
Carlos Martinez went 7 IP and gave up 4 ER on 7 H, 4 BB, and 4 K's against the Marlins. Martinez has been pitching well as of late and has a 2.99 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP. His SIERA sits at 4.01, which is nearly 1.3 runs higher than his ERA. He has a higher BABIP and LOB%, which are two things that SIERA likes to regress. SIERA also does not like Martinez's league average strikeout rate (20%). His SwStr is also down to 9.5%. The good news is that Martinez pitches in the N.L., which allows hims to get away with a higher BABIP and LOB%. He is not going to regress to a 4.00 ERA by the end of the year, but an ERA over 3.00 looks more and more likely. He will be at home against the Braves next time out, which is a plus matchup.
Jerad Eickhoff-Phillies-SP
Jerad Eickhoff went 5 IP and gave up 0 ER on 2 H, 0 BB, and 1 K's against the Braves. Before the rain delay. Eickhoff has a 3.68 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP over 132 IP. Eickhoff has pitched better than his advanced stats. He has a 4.00 SIERA and this is likely due to his average strikeout rate (20.8% K). Eickhoff makes the strikeout play due to his excellent control (5.8% BB). Eickhoff has an excellent curve and he has upped the usage, but the swing and misses hasn't come up with it. His SwStr has fallen from a year ago to 9.7%. There doesn't appear to be any more upside in Eickhoff's game until he ups the strikeouts or gets more ground balls. What you have gotten so far is what you are likely to get the rest of the way.
Hernan Perez-Brewers-3B
Hernan Perez was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 SB against the Pirates. Perez is now hitting .288 with 7 HR and 18 SB over 67 games. Perez does not walk much (4.5% BB), which means he will have to hit his way on to be able to steal bases. He has hit .301 with an .827 OPS in July. He should continue to see more playing time for the Brewers and his ability to steal bases is extremely valuable in today's fantasy game. Ride the wave while he is hot and running.
Francisco Liriano-Pirates-SP
Francisco Liriano went 5 IP and gave up 4 ER on 6 H, 3 BB, and 7 K's against the Brewers. Liriano has been a major disappointment for the Pirates this year. He has a 5.46 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP over 113.2 IP. He has a career high 13.2% walk rate. He has a 5.54 ERA in July and things have not turned around for the left-hander. His 4.71 SIERA doesn't point to things getting better, which means at this point it is wise to move on and let someone else gamble on Liriano's upside. He is having a hard time getting ahead in counts with just a 54% first strike percentage.

Ryan Schimpf-Padres-2B
Ryan Schimpf has hit .268 with 9 HR and 17 RBI in July. He has a .388 wOBA and .373 ISO against RHP in his short time in the majors. This includes 40% Hard contact. Jimmy Nelson has struggled with LHB over his career (.354 wOBA). DraftKings: $3,600
