Jackie Bradley Jr., OF, BOS
Bradley has now played in 81 games since his 29 game hitting streak ended in May, and has a .229 BA and 24% K% during those games. He has kept his fantasy value alive during that stretch by contributing 13 HR's and 50 runs scored, but with his recent demotion to 9th in the order, those numbers are going to be hard to maintain. His overall numbers are still very solid, and unless he tanks too much, there's a good chance he could be overrated heading into 2017 drafts.
Yu Darvish, SP, TEX
Darvish pitched well again on Monday, striking out 9 in 5.2 IP while only allowing 3 ER's. Incredibly, Darvish has now allowed 3 ER's or less in each of his 12 starts this season, and has 90 K's in 71.2 IP. Maybe these numbers shouldn't come as a surprise, as Darvish does own the highest career K% of any SP in history (min 500 IP), but it's good to see that he's back to form after last season's TJ surgery. He has flown mostly under the radar this year after missing most of the season's first half, but he is clearly back to being one best pitchers in the AL.
Mike Napoli, 1B, CLE
Napoli has now gone 13 games without an XBH, and his numbers have suffered across the board as a result, with only 3 runs, 4 RBI and a .171 BA over that stretch. The power display from Napoli is no fluke, as he hits a lot of FB's and has an excellent 40.3% Hard%, making him a tough player to drop. His high strikeout rate however does make him prone to these types of slumps.
Michael Pineda, SP, NYY
The anomaly that is Michael Pineda's season continued on Monday when he struck out 8 against zero walks, yet managed to allow 5 ER's in 6 IP. This marks the 8th time this season that Pineda has struck out at least 6 batters in a game and yet still allowed at least 4 ER's. Overall, he has a superb 168:40 K:BB in 147.2 IP this season and a 3.33 xFIP, yet here he is entering September with an ERA of 5.12. He looks like an excellent bargain candidate heading into 2017.
Brian Dozier, 2B, MIN
While Dozier has hit better against lefties this season, he has been just fine against RHP's as well, with 21 of his 30 HR's coming against right-handers. On Tuesday, he and the Twins will face HR-allowing artist Josh Tomlin, who as a RHP has actually fared worse against RH-hitters, allowing 20 HR's and a .300 BA to RH's thus far this season. Tomlin has been especially awful in August with a 10.80 ERA and 9 HRA's in 25 IP. Value Play DraftKings Salary: $4,700.
