Lorenzo Cain- OF- KC- Idea- Cain has a slash line of .407/.475/.648 against LH pitching with 3 homers in 61 PAs. Dallas Keuchel has been wildly inconsistent. He only has 7 quality starts out of his 15 this season. Cain is in a position to have a very good performance. Value play- Draft Kings salary $3600
Tim Anderson- SS- CHA- Hot- Anderson went 2-for-6 with 2 runs from the leadoff spot yesterday. His average is now at .271. Anderson has a BABIP of .385, which is 1 point above his mark at AAA Charlotte before he was called up. This is an indication that he hasn't been particularly lucky, despite that high BABIP. Anderson still has some apparent issues in adjusting to the major leagues. He has yet to walk in 13 games and has a K% of 31.7% after striking out twice yesterday. That is far above the 22.7% he had at AAA this season and 20.7% at AA Birmingham in 2015. After stealing 49 bases in 125 AA games last season he has only swiped 1 so far for the White Sox. Anderson has some potential to help in the steal category eventually but until he gets to the point where his OBP is higher than his average, it's going to be hard to do that in the short term.
James McCann- C- DET- Hot- McCann went 1-for-4 with his 5th homer of the season. His average is now at .203. This has been impacted by a BABIP of .244, well below his career mark of .306. It took McCann 425 PAs to slug 7 homers last season and he is already at 5 in only 146 PAs this year. With a combination of power and some regression to the mean, McCann could be a solid performer as the season progresses.
Ricky Nolasco- P- MIN- Cold- Nolasco regressed yesterday as he allowed 10 hits and walked 4 in 6.2 IP that led to 4 runs while striking out only 1. This may be an aberration as even after yesterday while his ERA is 4.95 and his FIP is 3.69. Nolasco had 4 quality starts in his 5 prior to yesterday, He had struck out 27 in 32.1 IP in that stretch while only walking 3. This could be a buy low opportunity.
Marcus Semien- SS- OAK- Hot- Semien hit his 13th homer of the season and 8th against RH pitching. He has hit 5 in only 61 PAs against southpaws but his number of homers in 206 PAs isn't shabby. His L/R split average of .291/.219 still makes him far more valuable in a platoon role.
