Danny Santana- OF- MIN- Idea- Last year the switch-hitting Santana was better against southpaws than RH pitching. This year he is back to his trend of 2014, when he had more success against RH pitching. Santana's slash line against them so far this season was .295/.317/.410 heading into yesterday. Jordan Zimmerman had a slash line of .281/.338/.438 against LH hitting last year. Give Santana the edge in this matchup at a bargain price. Value play- Draft Kings salary $2300
Austin Romine- C- NYA- Rookie- Romine has been getting starts against southpaws and has produced when he is in the lineup. He has a slash line of .350/381/.500 against them. With the Yankees facing a lot of lefties recently this has translated into significant playing time. Romine's BABIP against southpaws is .467 so regression to the mean will not be his friend. The Yankees are going to want to continue playing the hot hand and Romine is it against lefthanders.
Jorge Polanco- SS- MIN- Rise Value- Polanco got another start at 2B yesterday and went 2-for-4 with a homer (his first in the majors,) 2 runs and an RBI. With Brian Dozier batting .218 Polanco might get more playing time. He has potential to post a decent average with some pop. He has hit consistently in the .280s in the minors and has added 20 lbs. of muscle since turning pro. He was projected to top out as a super utility player and that should lead to productive playing time in the not-too-distant future.
Jarrod Dyson- OF- KC- Stats- Dyson sat out for a couple of games and had a .215 average heading into yesterday's game. He batted 9th yesterday and went 1-for-4 with a double. That only raised Dyson's average to .217. His BABIP is at .234. There is considerable room for positive regression to the mean, particularly for a player with enough speed to be projected to have 56 steals this season. If Dyson gets playing time, that regression to the mean will increase his value.
Sam Dyson- RP- TEX- Rise Value- A day after Shawn Tolleson blew his third save Dyson was brought in to preserve a 1-run lead in the 9th inning. He converted the save opportunity with a 1-2-3 inning. This was Dyson's 2nd save in 5 days and it looks as if he is taking at least part of the closer role away from Tolleson.
