Rajai Davis, OF, CLE
Davis has been playing well for the Indians of late and is hitting .286 with 2 HR's and 6 SB's on the season. Yet his fantasy value has taken a hit with the activation of Michael Brantley. Davis will still probably play more often than not, but there's a good chance Jason Kipnis and Francisco Lindor will now regularly occupy the top two batting spots in the lineup, moving Davis down in the order.
Nathan Eovaldi, SP, NYY
Eovaldi carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning against the Rangers on Monday, and finished with 7 scoreless innings. Eovaldi's career-high strikeout rate coming into this season was 7.06 K/9 (last year) but this year he's sitting at 10.22 K/9 through 4 starts. This increase is backed up by an increase (although not by as much) in his SwStr%, and the fact that he entered Monday 2nd in MLB in Zone% and 5th in First-Pitch Str% can't hurt either. I'm still not ready to say he's as good as his 2.98 xFIP suggests, but there may be reason to believe he'll be better than his 4.16 career ERA.
Rick Porcello, SP, BOS
Porcello pitched well again on Monday, striking out 6 in 6.1 scoreless innings, and improved to 4-0 on the year. The 30:5 K:BB through 25 IP this season looks promising, very promising. But it's also sort of odd that his K/9 has jumped to over 10.00 when he's never even had a season above 8.00. Looking at his mediocre SwStr% of 8.2% and his O-Swing% of 19.7% which would be a career low doesn't give confidence that the strikeout rate is sustainable. For now, I'm still expecting Porcello to finish how he normally does, which is nothing special in fantasy.
Jordan Zimmermann, SP, DET
Zimmermann continued his insane start to the 2016 season on Monday allowing 1 ER in 6.2 IP, the first ER he has allowed all year. Don't get me wrong, Zimmermann is a good pitcher and has been for a long time, but he's not this good, and he may not even be as good as has been in previous years. His current K-rate (5.54 K/9) would be a career low and his BB-rate (2.42 BB/9) would be his highest since 2010. Not coincidentally, his xFIP sits at a career high 4.05. Zimmerman is still a decent option, but if you have the opportunity, now is the time to sell high.
Josh Reddick, OF, OAK
Reddick displayed plenty of powers against righties last season with an .826 OPS and 39 XBH's against them in 2015, and that has continued into 2016 as he already has 4 HR's and 3 2B's in 48 AB's against RHP's this season. He has an excellent matchup on Tuesday facing mediocre Tiger's right-hander Mike Pelfrey. Value Play Draft Kings $4,000.
