Tucker Barnhart- C- CIN- Idea- Barnhart has a .285/.352/.392 against RH pitching. He doesn't have much power (3 homers in 158 ABs against them) but his strengths match favorably with the weaknesses of Tim Hudson. His slash line of .317/.378/.429 against LH hitting is a recipe for a solid game by Barnhart. Value play- DraftKings salary $2400
Cesar Hernandez- 2B- PHI- Player Injury- Hernandez is likely done after dislocating his thumb in a collision with Anthony Rizzo. He finishes the 2015 season with a .272 average, 57 runs, and 19 steals in 452 PAs. He enjoyed a .342 BA, which pretty much split the difference between his .368 in 131 PAs in 2013 and .321 in 125 PAs with the Phillies last year. With his speed that number isn't farfetched as something that could be repeated. Hernandez increased his Batting EYE to 0.47. Looking at 2016, Hernandez should be fully healed and a solid fantasy contributor at 2B.
Brandon Moss- 1B- STL- Cold- Moss is on an 0-for-23 cold snap. His BABIP is down to .268, well below his career mark of .293. Moss is going to be a low average hitter, but his current .217 is below expectations primarily due to luck. Looking towards 2016 his average should rebound closer to the .247 projected for this year plus he will still provide power.
Kolten Wong- 2B- STL- Hot- Wong had been going through a short cold spell, 0-for-6 in his last 3 games. This might have been a short spot in a longer hot spell, since he went 2-for-5 yesterday and had been 16-for-43 in the 11 games prior to his 0-fer stretch. Wong tends to be streaky so taking his current string as far as it can go.
Charlie Blackmon- OF- COL- Stats- Blackmon was projected to join the 20/20 club this season but with 15 homers it looks like he'll end up short on the power end. He has gone far above the 23 projected steals by swiping his 38th base yesterday. It looks like Blackmon is also setting a normal range in his average, with his .286 being very close to the .288 posted last year. His BABIP of .323 matches his career norm so he isn't benefiting or being hampered by luck. It looks like Blackmon will be a good bet to be challenging for the 20/20 club in 2016.
