Logan Forsythe- 2B- TB- Idea- Forsythe has a slash line of .311/.386/.636 with 9 homers in 132 ABs against LH pitching. He will be facing 39-year-old Randy Wolf who in his brief major league experience this season has posted a slash line of .321/.367/.482 against RH hitting in 14.1 IP. Forsythe has a distinct advantage. Value play- DraftKings salary $4400
Chris Archer- P- TB- Cold- For the third time in his last 5 outings, Archer failed to register a quality start. He went through a similar stretch in 2014 when he had 3 of 4 non-quality starts between August 19 and September 3. Archer then finished with 4 quality starts to close out the year. For now, look at this as a similar cold stretch but watch him in his last starts to determine if there is concern when evaluating him for 2016.
Matt Dominguez- 3B- MIL- FYI- Dominguez was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays and added to their major league roster. This is the third organization Dominguez has been with this season and the first time he will be in a major league uniform in 2015. With 37 homers for the Astros in 2013-14 Dominguez has shown power. While his strikeouts have dropped at AAA this season (75 Ks in 475 PAs combined with Colorado Springs and Fresno) so has his power. Dominguez only has 10 homers. The Blue Jays are the latest team hoping to rekindle the power in Dominguez and get a lineup boost. It's not likely to happen.
Yan Gomes- C- CLE- Hot- Gomes played in his 4th game of the month and has gone 4-for-15 with 2 homers. He didn't strike out yesterday, which is an improvement after getting at least 1 K in the previous 5 games he played. Gomes has had bad luck this season and it might be turning around. His BABIP is still at only .266, which is well below his career mark of .310. Taking that into consideration along with the 6 homers he's hit since August 3rd and Gomes could be a candidate for a big bounce back in 2016.
Mike Olt- 3B- CHN- Rise Value- Olt went from the North Side to the South Side as he made his debut with the White Sox yesterday. He went 2-for-4 but his two outs were strikeouts. Whether he can cut down on his free swinging ways will determine whether he has a long term future with the AL Chicago team. His K% of 30.3% with AAA Iowa before the Cubs designated him for assignment has to be improved on. The only time his K% has been less than 28.7% at any stop since Olt hit the AAA level was for 152 PAs at Iowa in 2013 after he was dealt from the Texas organization.
