Troy Tulowitski - Troy Tulowitski left game one of the Jays doubleheader Saturday with what the team originally thought was just a bone bruise after colliding with OF Kevin Pillar, but that was before his MRI results returned. Tulo, instead of being day-to-day he now is out indefinitely with a crack in his left scapula. This is obviously huge news to both the Blue Jays and fantasy owners as the playoffs are about to begin for each. If he's unable to return to the field this season, Tulo in Toronto is going to look very enticing to a lot of owners in the first round again, but can he stay healthy? Tulo in that park, with that lineup, is worth a top pick but his injury concerns make it very tough.
David Ortiz - David Ortiz popped a pair of homers Saturday to give him 500 career longballs for his career. At 39 years young, Ortiz just keeps getting it done at the plate even with the Red Sox's struggles this season with consistent play. He's got a 139 wRC+ with a .275 average, 34 homers, and 95 RBI. He's an interesting case for next season, because personally I wasn't having naything to do with him going into this season. Maybe he's worth a late round flier, because although he'll be up there in age being able to solely DH with absolutely give him a better chance on the field.
Jose Bautista - Jose Bautista launched homers number 34 and 35 in the Jays doubleheader against the Yankees. With his five RBI he drove in, he now has back to back seasons of 100 RBI and has four 100 RBI seasons since 2010. He also now has 35 homers in back to back seasons and also has four of those seasons since 2010. Bautista is a first round pick in OBP leagues, he's still a great player in the second round in standard leagues as he still fills he stat sheet all across the board. A full year with Tulo in the lineup with him sure won't hurt anything either.
Mookie Betts - Mookie Betts filled the stat sheet Saturday with his 15th homer, 18th steal, and three runs on the evening. Betts has had a fantastic year posting a triple slash of .287/.334/.475 with a 116 wRC+ en route to being a four win player this year. I love Betts from here on out as I think he has a little more steal upside in his as well. He's a guy I'm going to target him in all my drafts when the new season rolls around.
Chris Sale $13,000 - Chris Sale gets a wonderful matchup against the Twins and will likely be a popular play despite his ridiculous price tag. The Twins are bad against lefties ranking 25 in average and they rank 13th in strikeouts against southpaws this year. The Twins surprisingly have had Sale's number this season but most of the runs against him came when Sale was off to his slow start at the beginning of the year.
