Michael Pineda-Yankees-SP
Michael Pineda went 6 IP and gave up 7 ER on 7 H, 0 BB, and 4 K in the loss to the Red Sox. The owners who held onto Pineda through all of his injuries and missed time have to come away disappointed. He still has great stuff and potential, but the lack of results coupled with his injury history makes him a high risk/upside guy heading into 2016. He has posted a 4.24 ERA (3.31 FIP). This suggests that he was unlucky in 2015 and that he has pitched better than his traditional stats indicate. He misses bats (8.76 K/9) and limits base runners (1.25 BB/9), which should come in handy next season.
Jeff Samardzija-White Sox-SP
Jeff Samardzija went 7 IP and gave up 2 ER on 8 H, 0 BB, and 3 K in the win against the Royals. Jeff Samardzija has been a major disappointment for the White Sox and fantasy owners. He has reverted back to the old Samardzija that has great stuff, but doesn't get a ton of swing and misses (6.96 K). He lost his fastball, which wasn't getting groundballs and in turn was getting hit out of the yard. Hopefully Samardzija goes back to the NL and gets things straightened out, but at this point we have only seen one good season and a bunch of mediocre ones from the Shark.
Johnny Cueto-Royals-SP
Johnny Cueto went 6 IP and gave up 3 ER on 8 H, 2 BB, and 2 K in the loss to the White Sox. Johnny Cueto has come back to earth after his fantastic 2014 season. Cueto is fun to watch because of his quirky nature and odd mechanics, but the reality is that he has pitched poorly in the second half (4.48 ERA). His K/9 has dropped to 6.23 K/9, which is concerning. I don't' think it is an injury, but his stuff has not been the same since coming to the Royals. It could just be facing the DH instead of pitcher. Cueto remains in the same tier as Hamels, just outside the elite pitchers.
Mookie Betts-Red Sox-OF
Mookie Betts finished the night 2-4 with his 16th HR of the season. Betts one the season is slashing .293/16/73 with 20 SB's. Betts is fantasy superstar in his first season in the major leagues. It would not surprise me to see him move his way up into 2nd round, maybe first round in some redraft leagues. He contributes across the board. The kid can flat out hit.
DFS Value Play of the Day
Andres Blanco-Phillies-SS
If you cannot find room to roster Correa take the savings and play Andres Blanco. He might not be the most talented player, but he is playing well and is near min. salary. He has posted a .342 wOBA and .201 ISO against RHP. If he gets a spot in the top of the order, his value becomes really hard to ignore.DraftKings Value: $2,300
