Brandon Phillips - Brandon Phillips raked out three hits Saturday and drove in his 64th and 65th RBI of the season. Phillips has enjoyed a nice bounce back season to being fantasy relevant at the season, even if the days of his 100 RBI seasons are long gone. While he's decrease the amount of soft contact he makes, it's awfully concerning that his hard hit rate has dropped each of the last three seasons. Moving away from his batted ball stats Phillips has surprised probably everyone and swiped 21 bags this season which is something he hasn't done since 2009 when he stole 25 games. Forecasting him for next year is hard but I could see him finishing around 15th among second baseman, with maybe the upside to make it into the top 10.
Joey Votto - Joey Votto returned from his one game suspension Friday and launched his 28th homer of the season. Votto his currently having his best season (according to WAR) since his 2010 season... where you know he won the NL MVP. He's not going to win the MVP this year, he just doesn't have the counting stats, but Votto is having a huge resurgence this year. Even with the 28 homers I mentioned he still has driven in just 75 runs this year, but I will put a lot of that blame on the Reds lineup and Billy Hamilton's inability to become the best leadoff hitter in baseball. He's not a first rounder for me next year because WAR doesn't help you in fantasy, counting stats do and Votto just doesn't have the help to drive in enough runs.
Domingo Santana - Domingo Santana had a huge game Saturday belting his eighth homer of the season and driving in five. Santana was brought in by the Brewers at the trade deadline and bring some interesting upside to the Milwaukee offense looking at next season. In order to fulfill that upside he has he needs to cut down on the strikeouts as he currently is whiffing in 34.3% of his at bats. Through the minors though he's shown he can be a source of nice power launching 20+ homers in 2012 and 13 and he's now homered 26 times this year across two levels (20 G with MIL AAA, 75 G with HOU AAA). He's going to be a late round flier at best in 2016 drafts but keep him in the back of your mind just because of his power upside at the plate.
Ryan Weber - Ryan Weber notched his second quality start for the Braves in just his third career start, but you can ask Shelby Miller... wins are hard to find on this team. In his two QS's for the Braves he's got one no decision (Saturday) and a loss which was in his major league debut, with both starts coming against the Phillies. Weber really doesn't have much fantasy value this year or in the future as he is on the outside looking in among arms for the Braves rotation next year, and he doesn't miss enough bats to be worth rostering this season. In three starts he has nine punchouts, and five of them came on Saturday.
Julio Teheran - DraftKings Salary: $8,200.... Starting a Brave is risky, but if there's one I'm willing to roll the dice on it's Julio Teheran vs the Phillies at home. In three starts against the Phillies this year Julio has three wins, a 1.29 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 21 innings. A lot of owners will take some of the elite arms throwing on Sunday so Teheran could make for a nice tournament play option for DFS players.
