DFS Picks:
Derek Dietrich (2B-MIA) - Derek Dietrich makes an interesting DFS pick against Bartolo Colon. Dietrich's .527 SLG, .895 OPS, and .263 ISO are elite. Factor in Bartolo's .316 BAA lefties and 5.57 ERA on the road, and this matchup makes perfect sense. Colon's .337 BABIP and 1.3 HR/9 are an added bonus for the slugger Dietrich. He might not hit a home run, but extra bases are in his future. DraftKings Value Pick $2,900
Tom Koehler (SP-MIA) - Even with Travis d'Arnaud, Juan Uribe, and Yoenis Cespedes, the Mets offense is a little weak. This could be problematic against Tom Koehler. In Miami, Koehler has a 2.32 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. Even though the Marlins are a subpar team, Koehler has pieced together a 4-2 record at home. Much of Koehler's success can be attributed to his .258 BABIP and .232 BAA. These stats have helped Koehler maintain a 3.38 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. On Monday, Koehler should be good for 6-7 innings, 1-3 runs, and 4-7 strikeouts. With Bartolo Colon pitching on the other end, Koehler should also have a good chance to pick up the win. DraftKings Value Pick $7,100
Stack of the Day: San Francisco Giants vs. Mike Foltynewicz
Mike Foltynewicz manages to get hit hard every time he pitches. Normally his 94.8 MPH fastball helps him avoid trouble, but on Monday Folty will be doomed. Usually, pitchers with an 8.90 K/9 and a .373 BABIP rely on punch-outs. Since San Francisco averages 6.97 K/9, Folty will have to rely on his command. Due to his enormous 1.58 WHIP and 1.5 HR/9, there is good reason to believe that San Francisco will have a field day on Folty. Below are a few different options for the best DFS stack.
- Panik, Duffy, Posey, Pence Belt
- Pagan, Panik, Duffy, Posey, Pence
- Panik, Duffy, Posey, Pence, Crawford
- Panik, Posey, Pence, Belt, Crawford
Numbers to Know:
Jose Fernandez (SP-MIA) - Jose Fernandez's career numbers at home are insane. Going into Sunday's game Fernandez was 15-0 at Marlins Park with a 1.19 ERA. On Sunday those numbers improved. Fernandez tossed six scoreless innings and tallied 10 strikeouts. Had A.J. Ramos not blown the save, Fernandez would've moved to 16-0 in his career at home. If you're an avid DFS fan then you have to pick Fernandez when he's at home. His splits are so incredible that there's no way you couldn't trust him.
Waiver Wire Adds:
Arodys Vizcaino (SP-ATL) - There's a new closer in Atlanta and his name is Arodys Vizcaino. Through 13 games Vizcaino has only allowed one run. His 9.00 K/9 should continue to hold up and his .248 BABIP should drop. The one flaw in Vizcaino's game has been his control. He has four walks in 12 innings and a 0.91 WHIP. With time, Vizcaino's control will improve and his WHIP will drop. He has the potential to miss bats with his 98 MPH cheese and is gaining fantasy value quickly.
