Adonis Garcia- OF- ATL- Idea- Garcia has hit 4 homers in 28 ABs against LH pitching. Chris Narveson has allowed 4 homers to RH hitters in 10 IP. In this collision of extreme but small sample sizes Garcia has a distinct edge. Value play- DraftKings salary $3100
Michael Cuddyer- OF- NYN- Hot- Cuddyer has hit safely in the last 6 games he has started and picked up 3 hits in 3 of those games, including yesterday. Scattered among them are 5 pinch hitting and defensive substitution appearances, in which he has gone 2-for-6, so Cuddyer's hitting streak is at one (that would be yesterday.) He had a BABIP of .302 when this stretch started so there may have been some regression to the mean happening. The pendulum has swung a little far the other way now, as his career BABIP is .323 and his career mark is .314. Cuddyer's hot streak could turn cold before too long to make a correction.
D. J. Le Mahieu- 2B- COL- Cold- After August 14, LeMahieu had a .321 average and .392 BABIP. Some negative regression to the mean may have been expected and it's been happening. Since then LeMahieu has gone 10-for-49 and his average has dropped to .309. His BABIP is still at .374, well above his .342 career average so the bad luck may not be over soon.
John Lamb- P- CIN- Hot- Although he got tagged with the loss yesterday, Lamb threw his first major league quality start. He looked like the prime prospect he was a few years ago with the Royals before he underwent Tommy John surgery 4 years ago. Lamb allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 8 while walking no one in 6 IP. Lamb's ERA of 5.24 has been inflated by bad luck, as his FIP is 3.66 and his xFIP is 2.82. He has recorded 29 Ks in 22.1 IP, continuing a rise in K rate over the past few years. Lamb is definitely pitching himself into the Reds' 2016 rotation plans.
Jonathan Lucroy- C- MIL- Hot- The regression to the mean Lucroy has been waiting for seems to have arrived. Since August 17th he has gone 15-for-38 and his BABIP has risen from .267 to .282. With a career mark of .307 Lucroy can expect some more positive regression. His average should end up higher than the current .255.
