Zack Greinke-Dodgers-SP
Zack Greinke went 7 IP and gave up 0 ER on 4 H, 2 BB, and 9 K in the win against the Reds. At this point Greinke has to be battling his teammate for the NL Cy Young Award. He comes into the game with a 1.67 ERA (2.67 FIP) and leaves with a 1.61 ERA. His strikeouts are down (8.09 K/9) and he has been aided by a high LOB% (85.4) and BABIP (.235). I wouldn't worry about regression the rest of this season, but next year Greinke will be in for some major regression and this will go down as his career year. He gets the Giants at home next time out.
Joe Ross-Nationals-SP
Joe Ross went 6 IP and gave up 0 ER on 1 H, 2 BB, and 7 K in the win against the Padres. Through 10 big league starts Ross has a 3.24 ERA (3.12 FIP), 8.60 K/9, 1.05 WHIP, and 49% GB. Ross has been excellent in his time at the big league level. He's got good stuff and the SwStr (12.8%) to back it up. He is going to stick in the rotation and will continue to return very nice value for you. He is the real deal.
Andrew Cashner-Padres-SP
Andrew Cashner went 5.2 IP and gave up 3 ER on 9 H, 3 BB, and 6 K in the loss to the Nationals. Cashner despite his great live arm has yet to live up to expectations. He has said that he was going to cut it loose this year to try to get more strikeouts and hopefully develop into an ace, but he has gone right back to being the mediocre that he is. He has a 4.05 ERA (3.92 FIP), 7.68 K/9, and 1.35 WHIP. He is leaving too many pitches over the heart of the plate and can't put hitters away. He is nothing more than a league average pitcher at this point.
Madison Bumgarner-Giants-SP
Madison Bumgarner went 6 IP and gave up 1 ER on 2 H, 2 BB, and 12 K in the win against the Cubs. Bumgarner is turning into a monster once again as we get close to playoff baseball. He has a 2.97 ERA (2.75 FIP), 9.84 K/9, and 1.04 WHIP. He posted a 1.42 ERA with a 41:2 K/BB ratio in August. He will continue to be a fantasy ace and gets the Dodgers at home next time out.
DFS Value Play of the Day
Raisel Iglesias-Reds-SP
Raisel Iglesias has been excellent over his last five starts. He has a 2.00 ERA with 35 K's over that time period. He gets the Brewers at Miller Park, which isn't the greatest park for pitchers, but the Brewers have been terrible over the past two weeks. They have a .313 wOBA, 93 wRC+, and 23% K. They are also middle of the pack against RHP this year (.309 wOBA, 89 wRC+, and 21% K). DraftKings Value: $7,800
