Adam Eaton (OF-CHW): Eaton continued his scorching second half, going 2 for 4 and hitting a 2-run homer, his 10th of the season. He has posted a .420 wOBA since the break and is starting to deliver on the promise he showed as a prospect in the Arizona system. He's right at averaging 104 MPH speed off bat on his homers, so the 10% HR/FB rate is legit. The last frontier will be improving against lefties, which if he can continue to do, will propel him into top-25 OF territory in 2016.
Corey Kluber (SP-CLE): The Klubot pitched an incredibly efficient complete game, allowing only 1 earned run on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 7 on 98 pitches to pick up the W against the fading Twins. If wins weren't a fantasy stat in the majority of leagues, Kluber would stand out yet again as a top-5 option with his 193:34 K:BB ratio in 180 innings. He has been a bit unfortunate too with a 2.92 xFIP. The Klubot has actually increased in chase and swinging strike rates! If I'm a keeper league I'm probing his owner in the offseason (gently, of course) and propositioning (legally, of course).
Ivan Nova (SP-NYY): Ivan Nova outdueled David Price, allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 3 across 7-innings to pick up the W. While Nova has shown many promising signs since his return, be careful: he carries a 4.35 xFIP and isn't missing many bats with a 16% K rate and 8% swinging strike rate. He is inducing groundballs at a high rate and being stingy with the free passes, making him a great start in all points leagues. As for ROTO, leave him for deep leaguers unless you are chasing wins.
Bruce Rondon (RP-DET): While the Tigers fell to the Astros, an important signal continued to emerge from Detroit: Bruce Rondon is going to earn the lion's share of save chances moving forward. Finally healthy and over the mental hurdles that come with post-surgery recoveries, Rondon is posting a 33% K-rate and a 14.5% swinging-strike rate. While his control is still a work in progress, Rondon has a long leash and should be swiped up in all formats (especially keeper ones).
Jesus Montero (1B-SEA): At $2300 and with a matchup against Wade Miley, Jesus Montero could be your man on FanDuel if you want to spend elsewhere. While 1B is usually a position to spend up on, I see the utility of going to Jesus in tournaments. Montero has posted a .352 wOBA against lefties in his career, while Miley has allowed a .346 wOBA to righties in his. The Green Monster could face a beating today.
