Jorge Soler- OF- CHN- Idea- Soler doesn't have a great slash line against RH pitching at .257/.298/.411. However, he has hit all 5 of his homers against them and the Cubs will be facing Jerome Williams. Williams has a slash line of .344/.376/.612 against RH batters and has allowed 13 homers in 40.2 IP against them. This is a good chance at a solid production on the cheap. Aramis Ramirez- 3B- PIT- Trade- Aramis Ramirez will end his career where it began after he was traded to the Pirates. Even after hitting .352 so far this month Ramirez has a BABIP of .253. Regression to the mean has begun but there is plenty of room for more. The Pirates will benefit and Ramirez will get plenty of playing time for them at least until Josh Donaldson returns from injury sometime in September
Eric Campbell- 1B- NYN- Cold- After getting a pinch hit that knocked in 2 runs Wednesday, Campbell went 0-for-3 last night. He has had some horrendous luck with a BABIP of .200 killing his .176 average. Campbell has hit above .300 in each of the last 3 seasons in the minor leagues and has reached double digits in steals twice on the farm. Some regression to the mean will increase his value but it probably won't be enough to make him worthwhile in any but the deepest leagues.
Adrian Gonzalez- 1B- LAN- Hot- Gonzalez went 3-for-4, collecting 3 singles. That may have actually been some regression to the mean. His BABIP of .305 is still below his career mark of .318. Over his career Gonzalez has seen his average In the first half of .282 rise to .309 so he could very well be in store for improvement in an already decent season.
Hernan Perez- 2B- MIL- Rise Value- Perez got the first crack at taking over 3B in Milwaukee after the Aramis Ramirez trade. He went . Perez has shown some speed in the minors, stealing over 20 bases in each of the last 4 seasons. His Batting EYE at AAA Toledo was ,71 and .55 in 2013 and 2014 respectively so he has shown some plate discipline. Perez could be a sleeper to help in the steals column if he can hold onto the 3B job.
