Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers - The reports of Clayton Kershaw's demise were greatly exaggerated.... Well if anyone actually believed that he wasn't the pitcher he's been his whole career. Kershaw followed his best start of the season with one just as good, fanning 13 Nats over 8.0 shutout innings. Over his last two starts now he has 27 strikeouts in 17.0 innings with no runs allowed over that span. Hopefully you were able to snag him from your league owner who was disappointed with just 6 wins before today because his buy low window is shut, locked, and bolted.
Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles Dodgers - It's safe to say that Puig got rested up over the All-Star Break as he's come out of the gate on fire in the second half, going 4-for-7 with two RBI in the first two games after the break. Owners have to be getting excited with the hot start, as Puig hasn't lived up to his draft position thus far. There's some hope in his batted ball numbers, as he's hitting a career high in fly balls with a hard hit rate that slots in with his career average. Puig is one of my picks for a strong second half, and he's a good buy low possibility as trade deadlines loom in leagues.

Jason Heyward, St. Louis Cardinals - Heyward was hot during the last month of the first half and he's keeping that streak rolling into the second half, going 5-for-5 with two RBI, two runs, and a steal Saturday. For almost the first time in his career, Heyward is handling lefties well at the plate hitting .286 off them. He's still showing no power against southpaws but a large part of his turn around at the plate can be attributed to the improvement in his game against lefties.
DFS Ryan Braun - $4,800 vs PIT Locke Braun has excellent numbers for his career against Jeff Locke with a .348 average in 23 at bats. Braun isn't putting up his MVP numbers anymore, but he's still hitting lefties really well to the tune of a .292 average with three homers. I think Braun can leave the yard Sunday against Locke.
