Jason Grilli - In a huge blow for the Braves, Jason Grilli suffered a ruptured achillies Saturday and will miss the rest of the season. He's been great for the Braves this season and he was likely going to bring them back a nice piece at the deadline, but now we look at the Braves bullpen from Sunday on. Jim Johnson is the one most likely to slide into the ninth inning role for Atlanta. Johnson has had a solid season for the Braves with a 2.09 ERA and 31 punchouts in 43.0 innings. Arodys Vizciano could be worth an add for owners who like to stay ahead of the curve, as Johnson could also be on the move come July 31st and then Vizzy would end up the most talented arm in a fairly barren pen.
Raisel Iglesias - Raisel Iglesias struggled in his first game back from the disabled list, going 4.1 innings allowing five earned runs. He showed good control with no walks, but he struck out only two and allowed eight hits marking the second straight start that he's given up at least eight hits in an outing. Iglesias is showing some solid peripherals in his six starts with a 11.5% SWST%, but he has only a 35% chase rate and batters are swinging as a whole on just 48% of pitches. Until he can get that number to climb, he's likely reserved to just a streaming role depending on his matchups.
Taylor Jungman - Taylor Jungman was excellent yet again with a one run complete game against a Dodgers lineup who crush righties. With his 6.00+ ERA in AAA upon his callup, this kind of dominance from Jungman has been a great surprise to owners. Over 46.0 innings, he's hitting 2.15 but he has just a 7.6% SWST% rate. You'd like to see that number a little higher but with the amount of hard contact he's allowing (21%), you can get away with not missing a ton of bats. I still think there's a big amount of regression here, but lock him up and right the hot streak while you can.
Chris Heston - Heston has a nice matchup against the Phillies who rank 25th in all of baseball in average against right handed pitching. Even further against righties, they are dead last in baseball in hard hit% against righties making hard contact under 25% of the time. Heston is an excellent value at $7,300 and has a huge upside into the upper tiers.
Carlos Gonzalez - Carlos Gonzalez launched a two run homer and had the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, providing almost all the offense for the Rockies. He's better power numbers than in year's past but just isn't hitting for the average or stealing the bases that we are accustomed to season from the outfielder. His ISO is below .200 for the second straight season after having one over the .200 every other season of his career. He's got a 94 wRC+ showing that no matter what way you add it up, he's just not the player that we are used to seeing.
