Rougned Odor-Rangers-2B
Rougned Odor was 2-5 with his 8th HR and 3 RBI in the loss. Odor is hitting .348 with 4 HR, 4 3B, and 5 2B in July. Odor has been red hot since being called up and has raised his season triple slash to .271/7/31 with 5 SB. He looks to be a top five second-basemen the rest of the way.
Matt Moore-Rays-SP
Matt Moore went 5 IP and gave up 5 ER on 8 H, 2 BB, and 4 K in the loss to the Orioles. Moore now has a 7.61 ERA over his first five starts since TJ. Moore's velocity has been way down (95-11',94-12',92-13',92-14',91-15") and this is a disturbing trend. Those who thought they were getting a high upside arm coming off TJ surgery, have been severely disappointed. Moore needs to be dropped and shouldn't be picked up until he shows better control, strikeout numbers, and a string of good starts.
Carlos Rodon-White Sox-SP
Carlos Rodon went 6.2 IP and gave up 0 ER on 5 H, 0 BB, and 9 K in the win against the Indians. It was an excellent sign to see Rodon have success without walking people. Rodon has great stuff, but has lacked control (5.63 BB/9). Rodon has a very high upside long term, but until he gets his walk rate around 3.00 BB/9, which isn't great, but it will help him limit the damage that is done. I expect Rodon to continue to mix these brilliant starts in with some duds the rest of the way. He gets the New York Yankees at home next time out.
DFS Value Plays
Chris Young-Yankees-OF
Chris Young has been the Yankees lefty killer this season. He has a .475 wOBA, 211 wRC+, and an insane .319 ISO. He gets matched up with LHP Matt Harrison who has made two starts since coming off the D.L., one being a dud and the other 6 shutout innings in Coors. Harrison is a pitcher who pitches to contact and that spells disaster against someone like Young who crushes LHP. Fanduel Value: $2,900
Chris Heston-Giants-SP
Chris Heston has been excellent this year. Heston has a 3.18 ERA (3.18 FIP), decent strikeout numbers (7.18 K/9), and an excellent 57% GB rate. Heston gets to face the Brewers who are middle of the pack against RHP (.318 wOBA and 94 wRC+) and get a huge downgrade in park moving from Miller Park to AT&T. Fanduel Value: $7,600
