Adam Lind- 1B- MIL- Idea- Julio Teheran has had difficulties against LH hitters this season, with a slash line of .400/.500/.646. Lind has made himself prime trade bait in Milwaukee with a revival. He is particularly tough on RHP, with a slash line of .308/.405/.589 and hit all 7 of his homers (as of Tuesday) against them. This makes for potential for the current but maybe not long Brewer to have a big game. Value play- DraftKings salary $3800
Jace Peterson- 2B- ATL- Hot- Even though Peterson went hitless yesterday he managed to provide some value. He swiped a base and also walked twice. Peterson has been hot lately. He may be due some negative regression since his BABIP is at .326. However, with a LD% of 28.0% and Batting EYE of 0.64, he is looking to maintain solid production while he keeps 2B warm for prospect Jose Peraza.
Bartolo Colon- P- NYN- Cold- Colon failed to record a quality start for the third straight outing and 4 times out of his last 5 starts. He got rocked hard, allowing 9 runs (8 earned) in just 4.1 IP. Colon had uncharacteristic control problems, walking 2 batters when he had only walked 1 in 2015 up until that point. Colon's main problem recently, though, has been a tendency to give up the long ball. For the second straight start he gave up 2 homers. Over this cold stretch he has allowed 7 homers in 29.2 IP. Colon's ERA jumped over a full run, to 4.85, but his FIP is at 3.98. Colon was somewhat unlucky last year, with a 4.09 ERA and 3.57 FIP. That trend is happening again this season. There are some reasons to hope that his production will come around. The bright spot last night was 4 Ks, which increased his K/9 to 7.44.
Danny Espinosa- 2B- WAS- Hot- Espinosa went 1-for-3 yesterday and is batting a respectable .269. That's a vast improvement over the .219 he batted last year and the .158 mark he had in 2013, when he looked entirely lost at the plate. Espinosa has much more discipline, walking 11.9% of the time and owning a Batting EYE of 0.56. Espinosa is hitting lefties at a .375 clip and has an OBP against RH pitching of .354. Espinosa has 5 homers this season, seeming to recapture the power that saw him hit 21 in 2011and 17 in 2012. The only thing missing from Espinosa's game from those years where it looked like he might be establishing himself as a solid option at 2B is speed. He has yet to steal a base and so is highly unlikely to get to the 20 homers he slugged in 2012. He could have gotten himself back to the point where he can have some value in deeper leagues.
Andrew McCutchen- OF- PIT- Great Player- McCutchen went 3-for-5 with a homer last night. It raised his average 13 points and his BABIP 11 points. With a BABIP still at .250, there is plenty of room for positive regression. His .238 average is bound to rise and this may be a turning point in his luck.
