Bartolo Colon, New York Mets - Draft Kings Value - $7,300: Bartolo Colon against the Phillies almost sounds like a no-brainer Sunday with how well Colon has pitched this year and with how bad the Phillies are. Granted, we all said the same thing the other day with Matt Harvey but I'd still roll with Colon Sunday. The Phillies hit just .211 as a team against righties this year which somehow isn't the worst in the league (Rangers .210) but it's still just terrible.
Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals - Bryce Harper continues to be the hottest hitter in baseball as he picked up another two hits with the second being a walk-off two run homer, his 6th in the past three games. He also walked again, scored two runs, and drove in two on the evening. It looks as if 2015 is the year we have all been predicting would happen for the past two/three years now as Harper already has 11 homers and 27 RBI with a triple slash of .292/.433/.651 and a wOBA of .449. He's already approaching the numbers he put up in his 2014 injury riddled season and his walk rate has jumped from 9.6% to 20.2%. His best BB% in the majors came in 2013 and that was only 12.3% so this jump has been huge compared to any previous season.
Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs - Well he did it, he finally did it! Kris Bryant launched his first big league homerun Saturday, a three run blast off of Milwaukee starter Kyle Lohse. He's been very successful at driving in runners this year as the three run homer boosted his total to 17 on the season. Bryant is going to produce, we all know that, and his .118 ISO is probably 100 points lower than what he'll finish at this season. Bryant has had some strikeout issues which aren't surprising but a 31.9% K% definitely could use some improvement (unless he wants to start hitting more homers). He still is walking fairly well at 18.1% but he has taken just one walk in his last five games.
Julio Teheran, Atlanta Braves - In his last outing against the Reds we saw Julio Teheran flash the potential we all saw entering this season, and then on Saturday he reverted back to what his norm in 2015 is. He allowed six runs in 5.0 innings while allowing 10 hits. He avoided the L thanks in part to the Nats bullpen blowing a 6-1 lead in the 7th and 8th innings. The walks this year for Julio are extremely concerning as three more Saturday give him more than four per nine on average. In his three full seasons with the Braves his BB/9 peaked at 2.18 so seeing this terrible command makes you kind of wonder if he isn't 100%. We're not anywhere near the drop zone for Teheran but until he can start consistently pitching well it may be better to pick and choose starts.
