Jimmy Paredes- OF- BAL- Idea- Paredes carried a slash line .327/.339/.600 against righthanded pitching into last night's game. In 3 PAs against righthanders he hit a homer and walked twice. Today the Yankees will send Adam Warren and his slash line of .286/.333/.429 against lefthanders to the mound. Paredes could have another big game. Value play- DraftKings salary $4500
Rougned Odor- 2B- TEX- Drop Value- Odor is now officially in a timeshare situation at 2B for the Rangers. His average of .144 has gone on too long for manager Jeff Banister to ignore. As a lefty, Odor will still get more playing time than Adam Rosales. With a BABIP of .188, Odor is due some major regression to the mean. Once that happens he should reclaim a starting role. He is a buy low candidate. He can't get much lower.
Caleb Joseph- C- BAL- Hot- Joseph remained hot, going 2-for-4 with a double, homer, run, and 2 RBI. He raised his average to .296. Joseph has been the recipient of good luck, with a BABIP of .367. So expect that average to drop when regression kicks in. His Batting EYE of 0.53 is well above the .25 he had in 2014, so that's a good sign. Joseph's 3 homers in 82 PAs is a continuation of the power he showed last season when he hit 9 homers in 275 PAs. It still won't likely be enough to hold onto the starting catching job when Matt Wieters is ready to return.
Fernando Rodriguez- RP- OAK- Raise Value- Rodriguez returned to the majors after striking out 18 in 16 IP over 10 appearances for AAA Nashville. He struck out 4 in 2 innings of relief in his first game back up. Rodriguez throws heat but also has a tendency to be wild. He walked 6 in his time at Nashville. Given the fluidity of the Oakland bullpen, he still could get a role with some value, especially for fantasy leagues that count holds.
Corey Kluber- P- CLE- Cold- Kluber is due some regression to the mean but it didn't show its face yesterday. His record fell to 0-5 as he gave up 5 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 5.2 IP. Kluber did strike out 7. His FIP is at 3.18, showing that there is considerable bad luck built into his 5.04 ERA. Hang tight. Kluber still looks to be solid. A change of luck will benefit him greatly.
