Victor Martinez, 1B, DET
Martinez went 0-4 on Tuesday and is 4-27 over his last 8 games, leaving him with a .232 BA for the season. His strikeout rate and line drive rate are right around his career norms, so his average should improve; what's really concerning is his lack of power, as he only has one extra base hit in 70 PA's. It reminds me a bit of the first half of 2008, when V-Mart hit .278 but had only 11 XBH's (all doubles) in 217 PA's, and it turned out an injury was prevented him from driving the ball. That may be the case here as well, and while would still hold on to Martinez for now, the situation is certainly worth monitoring.
Kendrys Morales, 1B, KC
Morales continued his hot hitting on Tuesday going 3-5, with a 2B, HR, 3 RBI and 4 runs scored against the Indians. He continues to prove that his .244 BABIP in 2014 was bad luck and that he's more like the player who from 2009 to 2013 always hit at least .273 with an OPS of at least .785. His current .353 BABIP is sure to regress, as is his .321 BA, but right now he's a hot hitter in a hot Royals lineup, which should allow him to rack up the counting stats and be a valuable fantasy player.
Jose Altuve, 2B, HOU
Altuve had a big game against the Padres on Tuesday going 4-6 with 2 2B's and his 8th stolen base of the season. He is now hitting .348 on the year and has only struck out 7 times in 96 PA's. The Pocket Rocket hit .341 with 56 SB's last year, and many felt he couldn't repeat those numbers, and the truth is he probably won't, but there's no reason he can't come close. His elite contact skills and excellent speed make Altuve one of the top players in fantasy.
Evan Gattis, C, Hou
Gattis was as cold as anyone to start the season but has begun to turn it around. With his homerun on Tuesday, Gattis is now 5-13 with a 2B, HR, and 6 RBI over his last 4 games. Perhaps even more impressive is that he has only struck out twice in his last 17 at bats. Gattis will likely always have a high strikeout rate, but there's a good chance that his current 32.4% K% will regress somewhat towards his career average. With his power, he has the ability to be a top-5 fantasy catcher. Gattis has already been dropped in many leagues, but his original owners may end up coming to regret it.
Nelson Cruz, OF, TEX
Cruz continued his great April by going 3-4 on Tuesday, ironically falling short of the cycle by only a homerun. Cruz and the Mariners will take on the veteran lefty Wandy Rodriguez, and Cruz loves facing left handers. He owns a career .902 OPS against southpaws, and so far this year he is 8-15 with a 2B, 3B, and 4 HR's against them. He is familiar with playing in Texas, and also very successful, as he compiled a .937 OPS at home with the Rangers from 2008-2013. Cruz will be very expensive, but he may be worth the price.
