Billy Hamilton-Reds-OF
Billy Hamilton was 2-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and 2 RBI in the win over the Cubs. Hamilton is slashing .267/6/46 with 69 runs scored and 51 stolen bases. Hamilton has really slowed down post all-star break. He is hitting .219 with only 12 SB in the second half, compared to .285 with 38 SB in the first half. Hamilton will need to pick up his game or many fantasy owners are going to be upset that he disappeared at the most critical time.
Yusmeiro Petit-Giants-SP
Yusmeiro Petit went 6 innings and gave up 1 ER on 4 hits, and 9 strikeouts in the win against the Rockies. Petit set a major league record by retiring 46 straight batters. Petit has a 3.44 ERA over 86.1 innings with 96 strikeouts. Petit will be transitioning back into the rotation after taking Tim Lincecum's spot. Petit has a 3.15 xFIP with a sterling 2.72 SIERA. Petit could be a difference maker down the stretch for a fantasy team in need.
Corey Dickerson-Rockies-OF
Corey Dickerson was 0-3 with a walk in the loss to the Giants. Dickerson is slashing .315/20/63. Dickerson is one of the more underrated young players. His stock takes a hit because he plays half his games at Coors Field. Dickerson does have better stats at home (.355/11/41), but he is no slouch on the road (.275/9/22) either. Dickerson doesn't show any signs of slowing down and will remain one of the better fantasy players down the stretch, especially when he is enjoying the confines of Coors Field.
Pablo Sandoval-Giants-3B
Pablo Sandoval was 1-2 with two runs scored and two walks. Sandoval is slashing .285/14/59. Sandoval has been hot, hitting .357 (10/28) over his last 7 games. Sandoval has done almost all of his damage from the left side this year. He has hit .216/5/17 from the right side. Make sure to play him against RHP only.
Brandon Phillips-Reds-2B
Brandon Phillips was 1-4 with an RBI double. Phillips is slashing .264/7/44 over 96 games. Phillips has yet to homer since coming back from injury. Since Phillips no longer runs, his value comes from his ability to drive in runs from the shallow 2B position, but he has seen a significant drop in his ISO (.111) from years past. Phillips is no longer anywhere close to a top tier 2B.
