Luke Gregerson -- With the Oakland A's putting Sean Doolittle on the Disabled List on Sunday, the closer's role is now up for grabs. Luke Gregerson seems like the most likely candidate to assume the mantle seeing as how he's incredibly talented himself and has been working high-leverage situations and the eighth inning ahead of Doolittle. Gregerson has posted a 7.5 K/9, 1.9 BB/9, 2.17 ERA, and 3.28 xFIP in 58 innings for Oakland this season. He is a terrific reliever and should receive plenty of save opportunities over the next couple weeks, perhaps longer if Doolittle needs more than the minimum time to recover. He needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues.
John Jaso -- On Sunday, John Jaso admitted that concussion symptoms have been plaguing him for the past two weeks. If you're wondering where these symptoms stemmed from, you're not alone. Jaso sustained a concussion last year, and we've seen in the past with players like Justin Morneau how long it can take to truly shake it. It appears that this recent occurrence is related to the old one. The A's went out and acquired two catchers on Sunday, which may speak to their optimism (or lack thereof) in Jaso's ability to recover in a swift manner. A trip to the Disabled List is seeming very likely, but we'll likely find out more on Monday.
Geovany Soto -- The A's acquired Geovany Soto from the Rangers on Sunday for cash considerations, likely as a backup option should John Jaso need a trip to the Disabled List. Soto isn't much of a fantasy option outside of AL-only leagues considering that 1) the A's have a ton of catchers (Derek Norris and Stephen Vogt, apart from Jaso) and 2) Soto's value comes from his power, which will be hampered by the move from Arlington to O.co Coliseum--17% drop in HR% and 6% drop in batting average. He does become the best defensive option the A's have, so that will help in his bid for playing time.
Yoenis Cespedes -- Cespedes went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored on Sunday. Cespedes has enjoyed a fair amount of success in his time with Boston, hitting .259 with 4 home runs over his first 21 games, and he should only get better. Fenway Park is a big improvement over his old digs of O.co, boosting home runs by 16% and batting average by 8%. Batting in the middle of a decent order, Cespedes is a terrific outfield option in all but the shallowest of mixed leagues.
