Dee Gordon-Dodgers-2B
Dee Gordon went 2-5 with a run scored and a triple Saturday night against the Rockies. Dee Gordon has taken a hold of the Dodgers 2B job. Gordon has hit .342 with 10 runs and 12 SB as the Dodgers primary leadoff hitter. It has been good to see Gordon finally make good on his potential. Gordon's BABIP is ridiculously high at .394, so expect regression in that regard. There are good signs pointing towards Gordon being a .290-.300 hitter. Gordon's K% and GB rate suggest that he is capable of hitting around .290-.300, which with his speed makes him extremely valuable.
Marco Estrada-Brewers-SP
Marco Estrada gave up three runs over 7.2 innings against the Cubs while striking out nine. Estrada has a 2.66 ERA over 23 innings with 19 strikeouts. Estrada is a flyball pitcher that can be bitten by the homerun every now and again. Estrada's xFIP is 3.99, which suggests that he is due for some regression. Estrada is not a power pitcher, but continues to post strong strikeout numbers, which keeps him fantasy relevant.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia-Marlins-C
Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 1-4 with a walk and a homerun against the Mets on Saturday. Saltalamacchia continues to stroke RH pitchers, as his fourth homerun of the year came of Kyle Farnsworth in the tenth inning. Saltalamacchia's four homeruns, have all come off of RH pitchers. He has a career .262 AVG against RH verse .208 against LH. Saltalamacchia also owns an .ISO of .208 against RH verse a .125 against LH. Saltalamacchia makes for a great play if the opposing starter is righthanded, but if a lefty is on the mound, it might be wise to keep him on your bench.
Jason Heyward-Braves-OF
Jason Heyward went 0-4 on Saturday, dropping his Avg. to .190. Heyward has continued to bat leadoff for the Braves, despite his struggles. Heyward does have 2 HR, 7 RBI, and 4 SB. Heyward's BABIP is .246, which is way below average. This indicates that Heyward's struggles are partly due to bad luck. His Z-Contact% and O-swing % are normal, so Heyward is due for better luck going forward.
Buster Posey-Giants-C
Buster Posey hit his fifth homerun off of C.C. Lee of the Indians. It was good to see Posey drive the ball, as he has struggled in the early season. He is hitting only .224, but does have 5 HR and 11 RBI. Posey's BABIP is a ridiculous .211, which suggests that Posey has been unlucky so far. Posey will be just fine going forward.
