Zack Wheeler -- There were concerns that Zack Wheeler would need to be moved to the bullpen at some point soon, but Mets manager Terry Collins alleviated concerns yesterday by saying that Wheeler would remain in the rotation the rest of the way. His innings cap is in the 180-190 range and he's currently thrown just 119 1/3, so he's fine to go the rest of the way. Wheeler has a ton of talent and upside, but his 4.98 xFIP thus far is very underwhelming, making him a high-risk play in mixed leagues and a solid play in NL-only formats.
LaTroy Hawkins -- Hawkins recorded his third save of the year last night in a scoreless ninth with 2 strikeouts. Mets manager Terry Collins hasn't officially committed to Hawkins as his closer replacement for Bobby Parnell yet, but it's clear that Hawkins is his go-to guy at this point. Not to brag (ok, maybe a little), but I declared Hawkins the best option in this space not too long ago. Hawkins is a solid pitcher and fully capable of holding down the job, so he's a must-own in all leagues.
David Wright -- New York manager Terry Collins said yesterday that is a chance David Wright's season is over. Wright's original timetable for recovery from a hamstring strain was 3-to-5 weeks, putting him on pace to return in September, but apparently that timetable might have been optimistic. Losing Wright would obviously be a big blow to his fantasy owners, while Wilmer Flores' value would get a boost since he'd no longer be at risk of losing playing time if Wright is indeed done.
Scooter Gennett -- Gennett went 2-for-4 with a HR, 3 RBI, and 2 R in last night's contest against the Mariners. Gennett is likely to remain Milwaukee's starting second baseman for the remainder of the season with recent news that Rickie Weeks is done for the year, so he'll have ample opportunity to impress team brass and force himself into the long-term picture. He doesn't have much power and just a modicum of speed, but he does have potential to hit for average, so he's a must-own in NL-only leagues and maybe even deep mixers.
