Pitchers
1 Jose Fernandez MIA SP A He's been great and unexpectedly so this soon. Makes at least 20% of Marlins game watchable.
2 Gerrit Cole PIT SP A 3 runs, but also 15 BB in last 19.1 innings, so he's not ready just yet.
3 Jameson Taillon PIT SP A Scuffled in last 2 starts but still 3.03 ERA and 30:11 K:BB in 29.2 IP.
4 Dylan Bundy BAL SP A A PRP injection and 6 weeks of rest. That didn't exactly work for Chad Billingsley.
5 Taijuan Walker SEA SP A 1 run and 27 K's in last 24 innings, so he's rolling. Could see him late this year.
6 Shelby Miller STL SP A- Leading candidate for NL ROY. Even when he's off, he still fans 7 in 5.2 IPO.
7 Zack Wheeler NYM SP A- 9 BB and 9 ER in last 2 starts covering 9.1 IP. Might have to wait until June/July to see him in NY.
8 Kevin Gausman BAL SP A- A 29:1 K:BB in 28.1 innings is pretty good folks.
9 Trevor Bauer CLE SP A- Returns with five-one hit innings on Wed., but six walks? A concern, yes.
10 Tyler Skaggs ARI SP A- 5.40 ERA still marred by one ugly start. Will return once a starter is needed.
Hitters
1 Billy Hamilton CIN OF A Finishes April with 15 SB, but .278 OBP is keeping him in the minors.
2 Oscar Taveras STL OF A .733 OPS is modest, but he's hitting a bit better lately. Look out.
3 Jurickson Profar TEX SS A .765 OPS and .94 EYE, but not making good contact right now. That will change.
4 Wil Myers TB OF A .920 OPS and 3 HR in last 10 games after a slow start. Not sure what the Rays are waiting for.
5 Byron Buxton MIN OF A Rising, rising. .392/.510/.684 with 4 HR and 9 SB. Might have to accelerate that ETA soon.
6 Miguel Sano MIN 3B A 1.183 OPS, but 70.5% CT% is a bit of a concern. AA should be a challenge for him.
7 Mike Zunino SEA C A- 11 of 16 hits = XBH, but just .222 avg, so no promotion coming soon.
8 Christian Yelich MIA OF A- .716 OPS with no homers and a 19:3 K:BB. Still very young...
13 Xander Bogaerts BOS SS A- .303/.380/.404 starts off nice, but no homers just yet. That should come soon.
14 Jorge Soler CHC OF A- .785 OPS with 2 HR and 2 SB and still profiles as a future star corner OF.
