Wade Miley (SP - ARI) - Miley was crushed in Milwaukee, allowing eight runs on eight hits in just 3 2/3 innings as he allowed three home runs. The 25-year old lefty has been excellent so far prior to last night, but is likely pitching above his head given his minor league track record. He should still look to be sold high if that's a possibility, but remains a decent option going forward. He should definitely be used Thursday at home against the anemic Dodgers lineup.
Matt Garza (SP - CHC) - Garza was less than stellar against the Astros, allowing two runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out one. Although he failed to deliver a quality start for his fourth straight outing, the right-hander's peripherals are right in line with his excellent ones last season. He's due for positive regression with a 14.7 HR/FB%, but also negative regression with just a .252 BABIP. He's a decent option on Thursday in Atlanta, although the Braves have some solid left-handed weapons to challenge him and Garza has allowed 200 points of OPS more on the road.
Ike Davis (1B - NYM) - Davis continued to rebound from his awful start as he hit his 11th home run. The average and on-base skills still have not come around, but he has hit five home runs since June 18th. His walk and strikeout rates have declined, but he has just a .236 BABIP despite a decent 17.6 LD% coming into the night. He still projects as a solid option against right-handers the rest of the way and should be bought low or picked up off waiver wires.
Nathan Eovaldi (SP - LAD) - Eovaldi struggled again against the Mets, allowing five runs on seven hits (one home run) in five innings, walking one with no strikeouts. The right-hander has a good minor league track record given the ages he was in the leagues and has been regarded well by some scouts, but has been unspectacular in the big leagues over two seasons so far as his strikeout and walk rates have been very mediocre. He's just a matchup option at best and is not an option Thursday in Arizona.
Hunter Pence (OF - PHI) - Pence hit his 16th home run as part of a three-hit game. He is now hitting .286/.351/.498. His peripherals are in line with his career averages as he's managed to post higher BABIPs without hitting a ton of line drives. He's oddly struggled against left-handed pitching this year with just a .699 OPS coming into the game, but his .236 BABIP against them is due for positive regression. He remains a solid option as one of fantasy's most consistent producers.
