6 Travis Snider TOR OF A- .313/.371/.469 in June is outstanding for a 20 y.o. in AA. Also has HR in each of last 2 games.
13 Carlos Gonzalez OAK OF A- 30:4 K:BB on the year and 15:0 in the last couple weeks. Still a work in progress.
16 Austin Jackson NYY OF A- 0 HR in April, 8 since. Will have to push that .274 AVG closer to .300 to move up this list though.
19 Tim Beckham TAM SS A- 7-for-35 with 6:4 K:BB in his pro debut. #1 overall pick could move as quick as B.J. Upton did.
8 Neftali Feliz TEX SP A- 2.52 ERA and 106:28 K:BB gets him skipped right past High-A. Not the litmus test begins.
9 Trevor Cahill OAK SP A- Just keeps on rollin' - 1.89 ERA in 3 GS in AA. 121 strikeouts top minors.
10 Wade Davis TAM SP A- ER allowed in last 6 starts: 6, 0, 6, 2, 5, 1. Be nice to see a string of good ones.
14 Jeremy Hellickson TAM SP A- 2 ER in 4 IP last time out is an improvement, but has a lot to prove his success isn't a fluke.
18 Brett Anderson OAK SP B+ 80:18 K:BB and 4.14 ERA in tough Cal league gets him AA promotion. 12 K in first start there.
National League
11 Jason Heyward ATL OF A- .337/.401/.490 with 14 SB and 8 HR. May have more upside than any OF on this list but we'll see.
15 Matt Gamel MIL 3B A- .386 in last 10 G but oddly 2 HR since May. Has to be flukish, but watch this closely.
18 Angel Villalona SF 3B A- Tough to criticize a 17 y.o. for a 79:14 K:BB. Does have 10 HR.
24 Bryan Anderson STL C B .347 on the year but power (3 HR) will need to improve for him to replace Molina any time soon.
25 Gerardo Parra ARI OF B Just .190 in July, though walk rate has improved this year. May be ready for FT gig
in mid-2009.
17 Madison Bumgarner SF SP A- 0.82 ERA since April with a 61:8 K:BB. Moves up this list every week it seems.
20 Jamie Garcia STL SP B+ Finding the PCL tough (4.57 ERA), but 8.5 K/9 is more than adequate.
26 James McDonald LAD SP B 2.77 ERA in last 10 starts and 100:33 K:BB in 95 2/3 innings on the year.
29 Henry Sosa SF SP B 3 ER or less in each of his 9 starts. 45:11 K:BB in 43.2 innings.
30 Joe Savery PHI SP B 5.05 ERA since a stong April and much too hittable (123 in 102 innings) for his talent.
